How to restore matte black finish to hard tonneau cover?

Greetings fellow geeks, I'm working on a truck that has a retractable black metal bed cover. The surface is textured so dirt gets down in all the textured areas. Now that it's clean, it's still faded and gray looking. What can I put on it to make it appear dark black without any gloss,?

Which wax/sealant offers the highest level of UV protection?

Does anyone know? It seems that since everything went to hybrid ceramic formulas, they're not mentioning it on the bottle for some reason. Was that the trade off, gloss for uv inhibitors?

    Paint Wax Remover Spray?

If you mix up some Dawn dish soap in a spray bottle just soapy enough to provide lube for a clay bar to glide easily without stopping, you'll definitely remove any wax present. Polishing followed by an IPA wipe will accomplish the same thing.

Ceramic Coatings and the Misinformation of the Masses

Did my 1st $100K production truck this week.

My best customer is a guy who has several vehicles I take care of, some of them on a weekly basis. 3 cars, 1 truck, 2 Sea-Doo's and their trailer, a 2-seater RAZR with $30,000 of addons & upgrades, a brand new 4-Seater Can-AM UTV, a golf cart, an enclosed trailer, a 55' Toy Hauler and a flatbed...

Ceramic Coatings and the Misinformation of the Masses

Referrals are the best, aren't they?! Everything's been done for you before they drop off their car. Gotta love 'em! I stopped seeing vehicles with the sticker in the windshield a couple of years ago. Now, the big profit center for dealers is subpar coatings that are guaranteed for a year and...

Ceramic Coatings and the Misinformation of the Masses

As much as the detailing industry and its participants (Translation: us) are uber-hyper-pro ceramic coatings, the auto body and paint sector sees it as a complete waste of time and money and rolls its collective eyes at the entire subject. Getting back to the topic of this thread, I...

Ceramic Coatings and the Misinformation of the Masses

That's true but, coatings are unique to the industry in which I represent and participate as a means to pay my bills and provide my livelihood so it's with these exaggerated statements that I take issue. As a result of these inaccurate statements, I am put in a position of having to properly...

Is Anyone Else Tired of All the Ceramic Pile-Ons?

I don't know about anyone else but, I'm so completely exhausted with the whole ceramic era of detailing. Coatings, hybrids, infused this and that... Enough already! I'll be glad when the next big breakthrough hits. I guess I'm just venting but, it can't just be me.
