Still skeptical about Opti-coat...please help straighten me out!

I was a skeptic, but you have to think of it this way. It's 65 dollars. It was the best 65 dollars I spent considering I only used about 15 dollars worth of product. after the first wash your jaw just drops from being amazed. The beading is absolutely insane and water just runs off the hood...

    50th anniversary 2003 Corvette z06

We only had one buffer, or else we would've been done in no home. And thanks guys, it was tough to cut. Polishing wasn't too bad, it was just the cutting with a compound and I even used m405 on a microfiber pad. I think it might also have to do that the porter cable isn't exactly the...

    50th anniversary 2003 Corvette z06

I'm back with another one. This is one of my co-workers. About 3 months ago, I applied Collinite 845 just to have some protection on it. Its a garage queen, and he wanted to make it black and shine like a garage queen should. He told me it was dusty, but i thought it would be a thin layer. I was...

    2011 Honda Accord Sedan

Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely put that in my books and my shopping list. So i noticed when the sun was highest, that there are some areas with light marring. I'm assuming from the applicator pad. What should i do to eliminate this, without ruining the coating i just put down? I have some...

Yeah I totally forgot about the IPA write up. I did do an IPA wipe of the whole car right after the Sonax polish. I should've thought ahead of time with the suede cloths. Now I know. And thank you for the compliment. That phot was actually unedited. I myself stated at the photo on the camera...

    2011 Honda Accord Sedan

I've been a lurker some time now. But i've been detailing for about a year and half now. I started off with Megs UC, UP, and NXT 2.0. But have gradually moved up to Megs 105/205 Combo with Collinite 845 which has been my go to combo for the last 6 months on various cars. Until i got on AGO...

    One Step Audi A5

Typically, but like the OP said, it was out of the budget. And from what I believe, FG400 does not offer any type of protection as it's a compound that finishes down almost LSP ready. So is there no protection on it?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

what am i doin wrong? still minor scratches left

Definitely try 105 on orange for full/more correction. Then polish out marring/hologram with 205 on white. Or, you can just do 205/orange when needed. And if you have hazing follow 205 with white pad. This is what I did on my honda black paint and it did wonders Sent from my iPhone using...

    4 Compounds/Polishes to last you a lifetime??

My new go to is d300 for correcting then m205 for finishing. D300 doesn't dust and has given me some great results. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

    using megs 105

If you have some d300 I like to mix 2 dots of d300 with 2 small dots of m105. It cuts absolutely amazing with zero dusting for me. The more you use 105 the better you'll get

    Clear Coat too hard?

Vette paint is definitely the hardest car I've done. I tried doing orange ccs + 105 and that wasn't enough. Had to go pick up a mf cutting pad with d300 and a drop of 105. That sped things up big time. Here's a few photos. I've been a lurker but Ill have multiple detail write ups soon of a...
