    Clown(s)...you decide

It was mentioned in the owner's manual of my wife's 2012 Toyota Highlander with leather interior. They didn't call it out by name, but the description of the product it stated to use would only take you one place. I haven't watched the video, but a properly diluted APC is the only way to go...

Detailing lesson to be learned here?

I typically don't have a set starting area. In my garage I have to unplug and move the vacuum around the car to prevent stretching the hose across the vehicle (plugs are along the side walls). I've actually scuffed paint and interior plastics with the hose trying to do the "stretch it across...

    ADS Hero

I think we all have similar thoughts for other brands. We all have products from various places that stand out and work for best for us. I don't know of a single brand I'd use for everything.

Agree, but I think it goes beyond the sound. It's the whole package/personality of the car: a large-ish coupe, a big engine, tons of power, just enough creature comforts to be tolerable, and reasonable price point (I know, debatable in today's market). You nailed it in your comment. Sure an...

I personally know a couple people who turned down the Camaro due to the visibility and bought Mustangs. I also went a similar route. I started shopping for coupes with the Camaro and never took it for a test drive. Just sitting in it felt like driving an APC or a tank via the periscope. I...

Need coating suggestion to amplify white paint

Cure and Ceramic Detailer are not easy to apply and get good results. I'm not convinced Ceramic Detailer isn't a diluted version of Cure. I had to dilute Cure 50/50 to keep if from having streaks. Even then it took work to get a good finish. Ceramic Detailer wasn't much easier. I'd go...

I think this is why it sells and is now the only pony car left in the US market. Chevy came close with the Camaro, but I think the lackluster interior and poor visibility killed it despite being the better driving car by all accounts. Dodge took a one-trick pony and then rode it well past it's...

Ceramic coat Piano Black interior trim?

When the PPF is applied, do they remove the trim pieces to apply the film or do they do it with the trim in place? I don't have this problem now, but several vehicles we've looked at have acres of piano black which makes me cringe.

Need Polish Compound and Pad Recommendations for Honda Paint

I think you're right. I don't see anything like them on the site. Even the "Flats" go by a different name now. The Smooth DA pads are probably the closest and even those have a totally different color scheme, but the white might still be relevant for use on soft paint. Guess my advice is a...

Need Polish Compound and Pad Recommendations for Honda Paint

That's a great point, and I probably should have been more clear. I use the Rupes and the LC HDO pads on a Griots G15 polisher. When I was using my HF polisher, which is similar to the PC, I used LC's Flat and ThinPro pads. I found the ThinPro's worked better and held up longer than the...

I use them interchangeably. They both seem to be a good middle of the road pad.

Need Polish Compound and Pad Recommendations for Honda Paint

On my daughter's Honda Fit I found Optimum Hyper Polish or Sonax 04/06 worked really well. Both are great on soft paint. As for pads, I'd use Lake Country white (medium) Flat or ThinPro pads, which should work really nicely on your PC polisher.

Need coating suggestion to amplify white paint

I think Mohs EVO looks pretty good on our white pearl MDX. I found CQuartz UK 3.0 looked really good on a BMW in Apline White. As with any color, giving the surface a good polish and making sure its as defect free as possible goes a long way to making it look good.

Not really. My peculiar acceptance of white is tied to the Mustang GT350 and it's white/blue scheme specifically. It was raced in that livery since the first model, so there is historical and traditional precedent for Mustang GT350's in my eyes that works. Other Mustangs, or even other Fords...

When we first moved to the UK back in 2000, I was in need of a second car for our family. There was one of those in black sitting on a lot near my work location. I looked at it for days. The price was a little above what I wanted to pay, and I wasn't sure I wanted to take on the maintenance...

BMW Alpine White is pretty crisp, but I still find it a letdown; even on that classic 5-series in your picture. If I was to go with a light, neutral color, it's silver all day, any day. A good silver will still show character lines and won't erase them like white can. An example is BMW's...

    BBS Wheel Wheel Cleaner

Even if the wheels are pretty bad, you may be surprised by how well your normal wheel cleaner will perform. Here is an example of Griots regular green wheel cleaner (not the heavy duty stuff) on some filthy race wheels I bought a few years ago. Wheel cleaner review

White also seems to erase all character or design lines from the shape of a car too. There used to be a white 718 Cayman I'd see at work and it just looked like a boring jelly bean. All sense of the design was lost. On the other side though, I've talked to a multiple people who like white...

I have this strange attraction to those old Alfa coupes. Love that car. I like the McLaren too, but white does not do that car any favors. There is a black 570 I see in my area occasionally and grabs my attention every time. Should I ever magically come into a gazillion dollars, there would...
