For the windows I would recommend using a compound to see if it works but I´m not sure of what do you want to get rid of is it water marks or scratches. And I would try the drill attachment small pad to work on the glass.

The pads thing is a confussion, I don´t know what kind of pads you´re refering to but i use Edge 2000 there´s no grey pad, the blue is a finishing pad 70 pores per inch which i use to apply glazes and sealants, and then you got the white pad which is 80 pores per inch and I use it to apply wax...
