I have a 52 foot black enclosed race car trailer coming up. Did a test spot with Orange pad and HD speed and it came out great. Since its such a huge job I was thinking about coating with Mckees 37 hydro blue coating. How would i go about this with speed leaving behind its protection? Also what...

How do I clean a White Aluminum Cargo Trailer?

I would use a good degreaser over the entire trailer. Dry it. Tap off metal. Then go at it with 3D HD Speed and an orange cutting pad

52' Enclosed Big Rig Polish Job

Went to do test spot today. Its a black 52' enclosed. I was able to get great results with my flex 3401, orange lake country, and HD Speed. After the polish job it will be on a monthly wash program. My question is what to charge. Im thinking it will take me roughly 3 days to polish and seal...

    College business taking on boats

5 times around with the polisher is too much... unless it involves sanding. I have strictly went to marine 31 polished Invest in a good rotary (currently using Dewalt and love it) And a flex 3401. Move fast and efficient. It's all about doing the best you can in the shortest amount of...

    Makita or Flex

So my year old makita rotary burnt up today... 5 minutes into cutting this gel coat and it lost power and started smoking... it's done for pretty sure. I have a flex 3401 and love it. So here's the question Go back with another Makita or go with the flex rotary? The flex is lighter but can...

    Improving gelcoat

If you can post pictures of the boat that would greatly help. Even on boats with no oxidation but do have water spots the Rupes blue pad and Marine31 captains one step make it come out great! With the Captains compound breaking down more after each pass it helps to refine the surface. Sent...

    Weekend Boat

I love them! I have so many LC ccs pads that just sit on the side lines now! Just ordered another dozen pads. Also going to try out the buff shine uro tec's and compare the two. The rupes blues tend to not last as long as I would like. As far as the gel coat goes. It came out great! I...

    Gelcoat haze ?

I always start with the least aggressive method possible. But a lot of the time I can look at gel coat and see if it's going to need a wool or not. But yes I do follow with the foam. After a 2 sections (2x2) clean on the fly then do two more. I roll through about 6 pads then put them on my...

    Work Truck Fleet- Sealant questions

    Gelcoat haze ?

Sounds like your not removing the haze that was first caused by the heavy compound. In other words the final step polish isnt abrasive enough. I have recently switched from the Gloss restorer (which is a heavier cut than final step) to the captains one step and it made a huge difference for me...

Looking into a vapor Steamer. Need advice

I resented bought the 1385. Used it for about 4 hours on an engine room detail of a 35 express. I was impressed. But definitely want to see what higher psi and heat will do. I sprayed everything with straight degreaser first to help Sent from my iPhone using Autogeekonline mobile app
