Waterless wash on a very dirty car

Thanks to all. At this point I believe that I'll be doing a bucket wash on the lower body, and just a vacuum on the convertible top. Then I'll at least be able to see what I have to work with. I can make adjustments from there. There is also a ton of mechanical work that will need to be done...

Waterless wash on a very dirty car

I really would like to use the hose to blast all of those filthy area's, but early Thunderbirds are known to be very leaky around the area's that the top meets. That's even with new weather stripping. That's why I find the use of waterless or rinseless products so intriguing. I wont have to...

Waterless wash on a very dirty car

Hi Mike, I've completed all 30 pages in the thread on restoration of single stage paint. My first question pertains to using a waterless wash on classic vehicles. I've recently inherited a 1955 Thunderbird that hasn't seen the road in at least a decade. Needless to say it's accumulated a lot of...

    Detail Process

It's going to be my first time using the PC, so I'll probably be really slow. I probably should have said LSP not necessarily a sealent. I was thinking of a liquid wax.

    Detail Process

I wish I could, but we have different work schedules. We are only off at the same time one day a week. The car's never been clayed, or polished in it's 5 year life. It's going to take some time.

    Detail Process

I was wondering what I should do for a project I won't be able to complete in one day. Should I only clay, polish, and seal the area's that I can finish? Or should I clay the entire car, polish what I can, and seal the whole thing up, then start over again on the next panels when time allows? I...

What would sway you to buy American?

It all boils down to "what turns you on" The old slogan "Win on Sunday... sell on Monday" used to ring true, and in the U.S. it came down to ground pounding horsepower. In Europe, the land of heavily populated, narrow, twisting roads, handling was at a premium. Unfortunately race cars at the...

What would sway you to buy American?

Once again I agree with you Mike, but as soon as some of these folks are sitting at the stop light in their Prius, and one of the new muscle cars are rumbling next to them, their hearst will beat faster, they'll have sweat on their palms, and they're going to pull in to the next dealership they...

What would sway you to buy American?

I agree Mike. Just remember, If you buy it... They will build it. With good numbers, there will be more on the way. Maybe restyled Road Runner's, Torino's, and Chevelle's. I think the future may be bright.

What would sway you to buy American?

You are absolutely correct, but things are getting much better. The new Mustang, Challenger, and Camaro are showing signs that the old "Horsepower wars" are returning. Thankfully...:)

What would sway you to buy American?

But the fastest production cars in the world don't put up very good 1/4 mile times,by drag racing standards. Drag racing is my first love, and will always be a mistress. In the crowd I run with, "Real race cars don't turn corners" :D

What would sway you to buy American?

Well it may not be fair fo me to compare. I have owned only American my whole life. My first '71 big block El Camino was a screamer. Then I discovered Mopar. "70 340 Cuda, (I really wish I still had it) "78 Ramcharger, 88 3/4 ton hauling truck. my '97 4x4 pickup, and my current 300m. I loved...
