    Extension cords

Something like the Flex cords are exactly what I had in mind, but to my knowledge they can't be purchased separately from the machine. @ The Gus, I'll check out what they have at Costco, thanks. My project is to replace all the cords on my growing collection of polishers.

Sonax CutMax & Sonax Perfect Finish

Are Sonax CutMax and Perfect Finish OK to be used in a 2-step scenario, or either one individually based on the condition of the job at hand. I originally thought the former, but after reading more on it I'm starting to doubt myself.

    Extension cords

I'm looking for a cord that has little-to-no "memory", i.e. it straightens out easily after having been coiled up tightly for some period of time. Many power tools have this kind of soft, flexible, rubber-like qualities, but I haven't been able to find it in extension cords. 14-16 gauge...

    Flex 3401 VRG backing plates

They do make 6" Uro Fiber pads, but I prefer 5" pads. Thanks for the link. $42 for a backing plate, wow!

    Flex 3401 VRG backing plates

Is there an exactly 5" backing plate available for the Flex 3401? As the picture shows I want to use a 5" Uro Fiber pad with the Flex, but the pad is exactly 5" while the backing plate is 5.5", leaving a 1/4" exposed backing plate that I'm afraid might scratch the paint if I bump into it near...

    Solution Finish Q

How long does it take for Solution Finish to cure enough to be safely handled? I have an appointment with a dealer for a possible trade-in noonish tomorrow and wouldn't want him to to get black, sticky fingers or stain his clothes.

    Drying tine Solution Finish.

I'm prettying up a car for sale and plan on using Solution Finish on the lower textured vinyl trim (black 2014 Hyundai Tucson). I wanted to know if this stuff dries completely (100%, no transfer). I wouldn't want a potential buyer to walk away with black smudges on his/her clothes. Thanks.

    Removing Ceramic Coatings

Hey man, thanks for the detailed explanation and pics! I'm impressed you got it off at all using such a "lo-tech" method and no strong compounds. I'll definitely keep this in mind when time comes. Gotta try and preserve as much clear coat as possible.

    Removing Ceramic Coatings

Disclaimer: This post is in no way meant as a diss to any brands of ceramic coating, including the one named. It's just that circumstances have come up that make me believe the product in case does not play well with a certain car. Please don't turn this into a shouting match over different...

    Nanosin Spot Free Q

I just came across this product and IMHO it's the best one of its kind I've found so far. My question is if this i a product can be used on a regular basis, or is it only meant for extreme cases that won't come off short of polishing? Will excessive use harm the paint? I just coated a pitch...

    Uro-Fiber pads Q

So here is what I ended up doing: I made one test spot using the UroFiber pad and BOSS Fast Correcting Cream followed by a (new) UroFiber pad using CarPro Essence Polish. To my, admittedly, somewhat untrained eye I thought it looked quite good. I then made another test spot using the same...

    Uro-Fiber pads Q

Hey, thanks a lot guys. That was more than I had hoped for! I will try the test spot technique tomorrow and report back my findings.

    Uro-Fiber pads Q

I may be revealing my own ignorance and opening myself for ridicule, but here goes anyway: Is it true that the Buff & Shine Uro-Fiber pads are just as good for heavy cutting as for finishing just by manipulating the compound/polish? I.e. use a coarse compound first, clean the pad and finish off...

Bakcing plate question Rupes 15 MKII

Can somebody in the know please tell me if the 2nd Gen Rupes with a 15mm throw comes standard(?) with a 5" or 6" backing plate? Or both. I would prefer 5" since i have heavily invested in 5" and 5.5" pads. I've been searching high and low on the Internet to know avail. If you do know the answer...
