Something like the Flex cords are exactly what I had in mind, but to my knowledge they can't be purchased separately from the machine. @ The Gus, I'll check out what they have at Costco, thanks. My project is to replace all the cords on my growing collection of polishers.

Are Sonax CutMax and Perfect Finish OK to be used in a 2-step scenario, or either one individually based on the condition of the job at hand. I originally thought the former, but after reading more on it I'm starting to doubt myself.

I'm looking for a cord that has little-to-no "memory", i.e. it straightens out easily after having been coiled up tightly for some period of time. Many power tools have this kind of soft, flexible, rubber-like qualities, but I haven't been able to find it in extension cords. 14-16 gauge...

Is there an exactly 5" backing plate available for the Flex 3401? As the picture shows I want to use a 5" Uro Fiber pad with the Flex, but the pad is exactly 5" while the backing plate is 5.5", leaving a 1/4" exposed backing plate that I'm afraid might scratch the paint if I bump into it near...

How long does it take for Solution Finish to cure enough to be safely handled? I have an appointment with a dealer for a possible trade-in noonish tomorrow and wouldn't want him to to get black, sticky fingers or stain his clothes.

I'm prettying up a car for sale and plan on using Solution Finish on the lower textured vinyl trim (black 2014 Hyundai Tucson). I wanted to know if this stuff dries completely (100%, no transfer). I wouldn't want a potential buyer to walk away with black smudges on his/her clothes. Thanks.

Hey man, thanks for the detailed explanation and pics! I'm impressed you got it off at all using such a "lo-tech" method and no strong compounds. I'll definitely keep this in mind when time comes. Gotta try and preserve as much clear coat as possible.
