Washing a freshly opti gloss coated car...

Thanks all. Yeah, I was thinking it would be okay. Yesterday we got some crazy rain and the beading was insane! So I’m assuming I’m ok...thanks for all the information. Brian

Washing a freshly opti gloss coated car...

Hey all, A few weeks ago I had PPF installed on the whole front end of my 2018 Explorer. I did my typical wash routine and put two layers of opti gloss coat on just the newly PPF areas. I also added a coat of opti seal to protect the areas from water while it cures. My question lies within the...

Flex 3401 - First time user

Great informative post!! I am in the same predicament as you. I wanted the flex but because of the price, and the fact I was only going to work on a few cars, I was thinking a PC or griots garage, but you pushed me over the edge to buy the flex...haha. Thanks for your post. Brian

    Sonax net shield or 476?

Good idea. I will try that. Half the roof with 476s and the other half with PNS. So I can apply PNS to the whole truck? Glass and black plastic trim? Brian

    Sonax net shield or 476?

Hey everyone. One last question before I place my order. I'm thinking of also purchasing the Sonax brilliant detailer spray as well. Can I top the net shield with the Sonax detailer spray right after I apply the net shield application for extra protection? Or should I wait till the next wash...

    Sonax net shield or 476?

Thanks everyone for the input! I think I'm gonna give the Sonax a shot this winter. The temperate is cold already. Around 50-60 degrees, maybe a bit warmer in my garage. So it is easier to apply in colder temps? Brian

    Sonax net shield or 476?

Thanks everyone for the feedback. To be honest, I have been very happy 476. However, after all the posts on how great Sonax has been, I just wanted to make a change to see for myself. Brian

    Sonax net shield or 476?

Hey all. I'm getting ready to execute my winter detail on my yukon. I have only used collinite 476 since I got her in 07. I love the way it beads water and protects. I have been reading a lot about the Sonax polymer net shield lately and I'm thinking about giving it a try this winter. I...

Purchasing new porter cable + accessories...

I wanted to ask what does everyone think about the Wolfgang über compound and Wolfgang finishing polish? Would this combo be good for light marring and small defects? I was thinking orange pad for the uber compound and white pads for the finishing polish. Like what was commented above, I will...

Purchasing new porter cable + accessories...

Thanks a lot everyone for the replies. Now I'm thinking about the flex. It's a bit pricey so that's my only issue. However, if you guys are saying it's worth it, I can come to terms with the extra money. Hopefully Autogeek can have a nice upcoming sale so I can make a huge purchase...lol!

Purchasing new porter cable + accessories...

Thanks madness87! Great advice! Yeah, I don't plan on detailing for money or anything like that for the time being. I plan on just polishing my two vehicles and maybe a few friends/family vehicles. In the future, once I get a better feel for polishing, I am sure to upgrade to the more powerful...

Purchasing new porter cable + accessories...

Thanks expdetailing! I haven't looked into the flex. I was under the impression that the PC was the best polisher for the beginner?? Am I mistaken? Thanks for the info and I will look into the flex.

Purchasing new porter cable + accessories...

Hello all. I am in the process of putting together an order for a polisher for my own personal use. I have a white 2007 denali, and 2001 white trans am ws6. Anyways, this is my first time using a polisher and I need some tips for what to purchase with my polisher. I found a lot of packages here...

    Polish for new headlights

Will do! I plan on putting the opti lens on my headlights, fogs, and taillights. Anywhere else I can apply? I know not on any painted surfaces.

    Polish for new headlights

Hello. I apologize in advance if this topic has been discussed. I am receiving a brand new set of headlights for my 07 yukon. They are a full hid retrofit, pretty pricey, so I want to protect them the best I can. I already ordered opti lens coating for them. However, with them being brand new...
