Is this hard or soft paint?

I agree with the advise on assuming its soft and then proceeding. I found myself nearly going overboard when I took out some scratches on my daughter's Lexus just after removing some on my F150. I removed her's starting with 3000g wet sanding when I could have taken them out with M105 or...

Is this hard or soft paint?

My daughter's Lexus 350 is extremely soft compared to my F150. My wife's Nissan Altima is in between but closer to the Lexus.

    Shop Vac vs Carpet Cleaner

Ordered the Spotclean Pro. I think I've got enough carpet/upholstery cleaning to justify it. My three grandkids will keep it busy.

    Shop Vac vs Carpet Cleaner

I've got some pretty serious carpet/upholstery work to do pretty soon and I'm wondering how a combination of carpet/upholstery cleaner (Megs), carpet brush, and a Ridgid wet/dry shop vac compares to a Bissel Autocare Proheat carpet cleaner (or something similar) with respect to cleaning...

    claying question

I clay outside but, as with washing, only in a cool shady place. I've used Chemical Guy's clay lubricate as well as Meguiar's detail spray for lubrification.

Using leaf blower around water - any risk of electric shock

I'm no electrician but I know water and electricity can be dangerous. Only one of my garage plugs has gfci protection and it's not one I use for my leaf blower. I use two 25 ft extension cords rated for outside use and a 2 ft inline gfci extension from Home Depot. I check my cords regularly...

    Tired back after car wash?

I've got a bad back, bad knees, bad hip, and heart failure. I still wash and wax my vehicles but take a bunch of breaks. Rinseless washes really help now that I know about them. Takes a long time with breaks but I'm retired and got the time. A stool really helps.

What type of clay system do you use, regular clay bar, fine clay bar, nanoskin claybar style handmit?

I've only used clay bar a couple of times but I'm using Chemical Guys medium.

Ahh my buddy just put a dent in my car!

I had a paintless dent repair on a nice size door ping a couple of weeks ago. The repair cost me $75 and I can't tell where it was.

    Polishing the roof

I had the same problem with my F150 SuperCrew 4x4. I'm only 5'11" and have short arms. I also weigh well over the 225 lb limit on the Werner platform. I can get to the top for washing and drying by getting in the bed of the truck and using a smaller stool from Harbor Freight for the sides...

    floor mats

I have Husky Weather Beaters in my car and truck and am satisfied. They fit well and pretty much stay put. My sister in law has weather tech and she's happy. I can't see paying the difference but some do. Weather Tech mats are great though.

    Just bought a HF DA

Personally, I prefer the 5" backing plate over the 6". Little easier to handle (mobile) and can use the less expensive 5.5" pads. You might want to try a 7.5" pad on your 6" backing plate just to see how you like it before buying though. A smaller 3" or 3.5" pad is useful also. I'd go with...

    Truck Cab/Bed Area Question

I ordered a microfiber duster with extension that only cost me around $12. If it doesn't work, I'm sure I'll find some use for it. I'll also order the truck window and cap brush if the duster doesn't pan out. I googled the product and found a place that sells it for around $18. I had...
