Thank you!
Thanks!
First, thank you very much. I look forward to how much better the boat will look (less damage) after the summer with the coating. I am actively looking to add to my machine lineup.
Got it out to the lake this weekend and on the water/lift. A few places I could have been more careful in applying Moh's but overall it looks great! Water shedding is impressive on a boat.
Wolfgang Plastik Surface Sealant - does that have UV blockers in it? I get requests to do this frequently and I'm happy to do it but I am always looking for a better coating to avoid future yellowing as I don't want folks coming back X months later going "My headlights only took 6/12/months to...
I left a multitude of defects in the gelcoat that I felt I could get out but was scared of getting too aggressive with 22 year old gelcoat. I know the previous owner had it "Buffed" every year and while I don't know what that means I am nervous about how much correction has been done in the...
Load up to go use the building at my moms:
Took it inside, wash, synthetic clay treatment, wash again, correct, polish, prep spray from Gyeon and then Moh's.
Correction was M105/M205/Sonax Perfect Finish in various places as needed on mostly 5 inch chemical guys hex pads...
I'll use this thread to document the correction and coating my 1996 Mariah Shabah. While a great 10 footer this boat is now 22 years old and black gelcoat has it's downsides. The goal is to get it decently corrected, then sealed up to avoid further UV damage. We'll also scrub and treat the two...
Sounds like I'll need at least two kits to do everything on my 22 foot run about, thanks for the info, I hadn't thought of doing the interior- I guess I can do the inside if I have left over after 2 kits.
Looking to do my 20 foot fiberglass boat:
and cover it with 2 coats of Moh's at least (maybe the full Syncro treatment?) but I'm worried if 50ml will be enough as there is a lot of fiberglass to hit. Thoughts?
Ahh, Nassau blue, I had a 98 in that color, such a good choice. Car looks good, that color really really pops when it's got a coating on it thanks to it's tricoat makeup. Very nice work sir!
I see you finished this based on another post @58LesPaul, how did the GYEON products go down on the gelcoat? I'd like to do my boat with the Moh's at least but am worried about having enough product @ 50ml since they said it takes more to do gelcoat.
That's some nice work, Folex has been a favorite around here since we got a dog (that stuff does work on carpet) I haven't had to test it out to that extreme yet!!
