I had a similar problem with all 3 of mine after several years of use. Took them apart and soaked the mesh filters in some CLR overnight. Rinsed them the next morning and they were working great again. If that works I would suggest just buying a few extra mesh filters and have them on standby...
My favorite for maintenance wash is McKee's 37 Power Wash and for coating prep is SCG Surface Prep (all used from a foam cannon). All of my cars (mine, the wife's, and my daughter's) have had nano coatings since 2009 and I have yet to find a shampoo that didn't play well or change the look...
If you want to ensure no lint go with the surgical huck towels. I use these and work well, and they are what most window cleaners use in that profession from what I've read.
I'm old school and just prefer clay over the synthetic options out there. Although I use clay I stick to Bilt Hamber since it recommends water as the lube and it makes the job quicker and easier.
Thanks for doing this! I wanted to wait for your test to be revealed to make my decision on which to buy, but I decided to pull the trigger on one and hope after my research that I made the best choice for me. When I voted on the one I thought looked the best I voted "B" and lo and behold...
I've been in your shoes and it's so hard turning loose of a dearly loved companion, but knowing it's the right thing to do. I'm praying for you and your wife and Koa as you all go through this.
I'm afraid you're mistaken here. I have a 1700 psi 1.5 gpm electric pressure washer that I've been using for several years (got my first foam cannon back in 2008) and it has produced copious amounts of foam. I have about 5 foam cannons currently and when they aren't making great foam it has...
Using 601 and then 105 is one of the most durable sealants I've ever used and it has a great look. I've used CGs Jetseal, DP Surface Shield, Rejex, Zaino, Menz Powerlock, Blackfire, and 4 Star and none of those were as durable as the 601/105 combo.
With that much soap and if you aren't getting good foam I'm betting the metal mesh filter in the nozzle is clogged. Take the foam cannon apart and get it out of the nozzle and soak it in some CLR overnight. After it soaks overnight, rinse it really well and put it back in and the cannon should...
I have found over the years that most waxes will actually come out of the container in one solid piece. I'll lay out some wax paper and turn the container over and shake it until the whole wax block comes out. Then with gloves on I'll spread the wax over the pad similar to applying deodorant...
I also have a Metabo PE12-175 with a Scholls concepts backing plate, a 3" backing plate and a machined extension that I'd like to trade for a DA polisher. Just let me know what you got.
I see Canada's best detailer is still doing phenomenal work. Great job and you're right it is so nice to have a customer that understands what we all get so excited about.
