New (to me) window cleaning method

AG sells WW glass towels (well, that's where I bought mine awhile ago). I love them! They have similar appearance to Megs Water Magnet (has some of those as well). But with window tint so prevalent, I only use soft MF towels on interiors. Sometimes, I'll use a cheaper quality MF towel if the...

I'm polishing a '63 Continental this weekend - could use some tips! [first post]

AWESOME job! Not sure if we heard what the owner had to say about: the final outcome & the paint flaking issues. If you want to get into the local classic scene, that guy may be your lead into it. Again, great job. Thanks for a terrific documentation of the restoration.

    Car washing mistakes

Carwash fundraiser for a non-profit that I help out. I gave 'em a donation, "you don't have to wash my car. GL with your fundraiser." Win-win-win. They get the donation, you car ISN'T damaged & they can do another one in that time frame. (Plus less water & chemical waste.) And they think you're...

Trouble finding defects with white paint?

To replicate the "orange light" concept, consider this..... if using a flashlight as your swirlfinder, most of them have a removable lens. One could use a photo / lighting gel to change the lighting color (such as 1 full CTO - an orange gel) under the lens. If it's a cheapo flashlight, one could...

We are crashing the Ace Cafe!!

YAY! Should be GREAT weather! (Not these days of 5"-6" of rain like custmsprty speaks of) It's a cool venue - larger that 1 would think! It's on my calendar!

    SunJoe SPX3000 longer hose?

From what I can see (& it seems to hold true) is that 15 mm is for electric & 14 mm is for gas powered PWs. That's based on the video from Obsessed Garage, discussing the connectors. I just bought the SJ SPX4000 & will need to buy some of the M22x15 non-std quick connectors. HTH

Out of the ordinary customer experience

LUC-KY! Very lucky! Rare to see such a stand up business as that. Worth writing a letter to corporate office of your appreciation of them taking responsibility. At first thought, I'm wondering - WHY is this guy bringing in a nice Camero? Well, seems like it might be a safe place, after all!

Boom! Test spot got me the job from skeptical customer!

Maybe I missed it, but what was used on the wheels? AWESOME recovery. I would love to try Collinite 845 Insulator - seems like it has incredible shine, protection & duration. That atop a great AIO, ought to look great. Congrats on that oversized beast!

Mobile Tech Expo 2017 - Classes this year

OK, so I guess that based on Mike Phillips class sched, I prob won't be seeing ANY other classes on Thur! Like I'd have to pretty much ignore the rest of the programs due to the great content he will be delivering. I'd prob skip the extractor class.. that's about it, though! Thanks for making...

Washing Microfiber towels - what temp ?

I'll chime in on this thread (MF TOWELS only) since so many opinions. Have an HE washer, use 1-2 oz of Chemical Guys MF wash (bought 1 of those 32 oz measuring bottles - COOL!) I sort (after use) the towels into Light, Med or Heavy "dirt." I run the "light dirt" towels on Hot - Regular, Stain...

Managing/controlling compound residue when using compressed air

That's basically what I was thinking. A vacuum (or if you want larger - an exhaust fan - with cleanable filter) & make a mini "spray booth" exhaust system. It doesn't have to vent to the outside though. If you move cars to a detailing bay, that would be easiest. If it has to be portable...

CASH ONLY payments for the business Y / N?

One other cool thing with Square is that you can send invoices (from mobile or computer). Since I am not a detailer (by trade) I don't know how / when it could be used. (Though it's helpful in my business.) Perhaps on a "pre-pay basis" it could be used. I send you an invoice for services (via...

Car Magnet Design Review. Need Opinions!

Agreed. Only thought would be about possibly a black stroke on the text. Just to help it pop & look a lil cleaner crisper. Just my 2¢! Good luck. I'm sure it will look great. Just an add-on thought - Vinyl letters on rear windshield. Not sure if you are limited to a magnet or have already...

Mobile Headlight restorations - Cordless drill or DA (or rotary)?

In hindsight, I think I saw an earlier posting that you did of similar. I remember seeing that item. A reference mentioning the "right angle design" is quite similar to a polisher design. Subliminally, it probably prompted my curiosity on the whole topic of "cord vs cordless" esp if working at a...

Mobile Headlight restorations - Cordless drill or DA (or rotary)?

Quick poll for those doing mobile headlight restorations - are you using a cordless drill or corded (DA or rotary)? I have been using a Megs G110v2 (3" BP) for F&F but was looking to "expand out." If I was to go entertain the thought of dealerships, I am thinking it may be a pain to run...
