Looking for a DA polisher upgrade to my Griots 6"

I don't have the G9, I have the older model. And it had these problems since it was brand new so I'm not sure. I have to wear anti-vibration gloves otherwise my hands will go totally numb after maybe half the car is done.

Looking for a DA polisher upgrade to my Griots 6"

Hello all, I want to take advantage of boxing day sales and I think it's about time I upgrade my polisher. I currently have a griots 6" polisher with a 5" backing plate that I don't particularly like too much. I don't have experience with other polishers but this one vibrates too much and also...

Looking for the most aggressive cutting compound to go with orange pads

Looks like 3D 500 removes P1000 sanding marks and 3D AAT 501 removes P1200 sanding marks. From what I can see online people say 501 finishes better and 500 can be a pain to work with but it does have superior cut. I guess that's the tradeoff.

Looking for the most aggressive cutting compound to go with orange pads

Hi everyone, I have a VW with hard paint and some heavy swirls. The only compound I currently own is Meguiars UC and its just taking too long to knock the swirls down. I only have six orange pads and six white pads. I'm not ready to invest in microfiber pads for cutting, maybe down the road. But...

    Polish wipe down quick question

Use a dry mf towel. If it doesn't come off with just a little-moderate pressure on the towel. Don't press any harder, use a spritz of 50/50 water and ipa mixed and it'll come right off Sent from my Nexus 5 using Autogeekonline mobile app

Made a boo boo buffing my wax off....

Ok so I did my yearly wash, clay, polish and wax yesterday. Car came out beautiful again. However, this time I had to buff the wax off in my garage (ULW) with little light to see. I thought I got all of it off but this morning after driving to work I noticed some spots I missed lol. So the car...

How do I remove paint sealent?

Isopropyl is good but not 100% effective. If you want to be absolutely 100% sure, do a quick n dirty light polish. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Autogeekonline mobile app

How can I get permanently dressed tires?

Hi guys, I find about each week I wash my car I need to dress my tires again. It's a water based tire dressing as the other stuff is just too oily and annoying to work with. Is there any permanent solution to having my tires look deep black and brand new all the time? Sent from my Nexus 5 using...

Hey guys, I've seen plenty of reviews on iron-x but not so much on Sonax fallout cleaner. Have any of you had first hand experience with this product? Also, if you use sonax or iron-x how much does it take to spray down a vw golf? Also, any procedure involved? Sent from my Nexus 5 using...

    Chemists!! Solvents

Thanks for the input Bob, I quickly checked the MSDS, 1-10% graphite composition whereas majority is 40% mineral oils. Solubility in water is not great. Time to break out the hydrocarbons I guess Sent from my Nexus 5 using Autogeekonline mobile app

    Chemists!! Solvents

I have some anti seize applied to the threads of my coilover perches when I first put them in. After cleaning the wheel well today I noticed they are caked in dirt/road debris. A wire brush is taking most of the gunk off but is there any solvent that would dissolve all the anti seize like brake...

    Headlight protection options?

I know this has been asked many times but someone mentioned UV protective properties in carnuaba based wax vs sealant like ULW. Should I finish off my headlight with say megs gold class carnuaba wax or ULW? I haven't heard anything too great about the headlight protectant from megs. Sent from...

How would you polish a gauge cluster?

Hey guys, I'm noticing people like to scratch the heck out of their instrument cluster somehow?? Is the only way to polish it by taking it out? Or just reaching through the steering wheel and putting in some elbow grease? Has anyone tried this? Thanks Sent from my Nexus 5 using Autogeekonline...
