    VW Camper Vans?

It is to laugh. Pontiac did essentially the same thing in '73 and no-one noticed (well EPA did eventually). Had a timer to shut off the EGR after the EPA test was done. Had a '70 Westphalia. '71 was better (disk brakes, dual port 1600) but this was cheap. Toured all over the Rockies and...

How to ease the shock from buffing costs to customer?

Few years ago (depends on your perspective) there was a Laurel and Hardy about painting a room. They started out hourly and were using tootbrushes. When switched to flat rate they grabbed 6" brushes.

    Novice asks how to start

Thank you. I had been through the book once but is a little overwhelming the amount of information in there. Your comments put it in perspective. It is a little strange, am usually the one answering questions about who built what and when.

    Novice asks how to start

I've been wrenching and advising for many years on Technical matters but never really learned "pretty" beyond "wax on/wax off". Was down in Stuart so bought the Porter Cable Kit which included the Mike Phillips book & have been absorbing a lot of data but having a hard time deciding which of...

    Wen 2500

I have both a Porter-Cable 7424 I just bought from here and a 1970's Wen 2500 Orbital with an 8" pad. Are there some things the Wen might be used for instead of the Porter-Cable ? Realize this may be an unusual question but I am just learning the right way to do things.

Need some recommendations for garage lighting

Personally like Cedar Key and thinking about an acre or five west of 75 near Gainesville. Keep in mind that when I built my house here thutty yar ago, it was on the southwest side in the county (still in county but grown up a bit). Also that I grew up in Florida & like it (the low humidity of...

Need some recommendations for garage lighting

Dual 4' flourescents have been $10 for many years, just used to come with bulbs. 10 will light up a 2 car bay nicely. Most of mine are thutty yar old, just replace bulbs and the occasional ballast. Now there are screw in CFCs that put out the light of a 300W incandecent. Two 20W in a dual...

    Lost e mail

If you have the same e-mail address then there is usually a switch for "forgot password". Otherwise I'd go to a Verizon store and see if anyone there knows who to contact for a password reset. Os one reason I use Eudora and keep copies both locally and in backup.

Suspect in the future the 20th century's greatest invention will be "cold light".

Need some recommendations for garage lighting

Originally I had 10 dual bulb fluoescents in a two car garage plus several drop drowns. Pulls about 6.5A. Tube lights on the floor for working under a car (prefer tube or CFCs because they do not get hot). How to run depends on your ceiling but is not difficult. Easiest way is to daisy chain...

    Hello

This is Padgett and I live about 133 miles up the pike. Have been around for a long time but new here. Recently retired so have a lot of spare time. Been playing with cars and computers for longer than there have been terms (to me a Geek is a carnival performer). This century I can combine...
