What did you do today non-detailing related?

Bought a new water heater 💸 Not what you like to see at 4:30 on a Sunday afternoon 🙁 Hello ‘Sunday Surcharge’…the Little House on the Prairie Lifestyle ain’t something I wanna wake up to Monday morning 💸

TransAm owner was a nice (albeit *extremely* talkative) guy. Would occasionally get out a mystery bottle of clear liquid, pour some into a large bath towel and go over the car with it. Some other nice older cars there too. The blue Ford Torino CobraJet woulda got my vote as Best In Show...

The first thing I did when considering a new car (particularly the Nissan Z and th BRZ) was to watch some YouTube videos on basic maintenance like oil changes. Oil filter on top of motor and easily removed panel for oil drain plug were big pluses for the Subaru. The maintenance costs, though...

Dropped it off at dealer abou 45 minutes ago, already listed on website (sort of; some incorrect info in there): https://www.porschecolumbus.com/inventory/used-2016-porsche-cayman-s-rwd-2dr-car-wp0ab2a8xgk185493/ Such a great car, kinda sad to see it go but time to move on. Great memories, lot...

Thanks for all of your input regarding this car…most appreciated…looking forward to 3 pedals again! 6 years, 40k miles the Cayman was the best car I’ve ever owned…so far. Time for something equally as fun minus the overhead! 😎

Good to go, dealer called this morning with a short window to order new. 2025 BRZ tS - Manual 6-speed, Crystal White Pearl, only option is STI Short Throw Shifter. The 2 BRZ's I drove over the last week (a Purple Edition and a tS) both had the short-throw installed and I liked the feel...

I’m thinking White Pearl if I end up being able to order. The WR Blue Pearl is really stunning but I’ve never had a white car before so that’d be different. Subie sales guy got in touch today so should know soon re: availability & timeline. Not decided yet on Limited v tS but probably tS since...

Gotta get in touch with sales at Subaru store and confirm BRZ ordering availability. If order can be placed, it’ll be a done deal. They have one on the lot but it’s black…no more black cars for me!

Yep…tax rate here is 8%. Went to local Porsche center today and got a “Write you a check” offer of $46k for the Cayman. They have a Subie dealer in their compound so I’d also get a $46k trade allowance if I bought $40k BRZ there. Tax credit of $3200 negates tax so all that’s left is Doc Fee...

Heard back on the somewhat odd journey: Explains it I guess…but not enough to rekindle my interest in this particular car. One of the things I liked about BRZ was comfort of seats; would be far more comfortable on longer road trips than our current ‘road car’, the ‘19 Corvette. Wish Subie...

Thanks for checking in and the thoughts on the car! We were testing driving a tS yesterday; 6-speed, Brembo's, short throw shifter, and some other more useless add-ons), seemed like a winner and they were gonna give us a great deal on trading the Cayman...a bit too go methinks! They were...

Drove a 6-speed Nissan Z last night; more of a 'Grand Tour' deal than a toss-about car. Drove 'big' which I guess can be expected given it's close to 3500lb curb weight (more than our 2019 Corvette). 400hp was nice but after driving a Cayman for 6 years, the tossability is more entertaining than...

I'm going to go test drive one of those tonite. The BRZ appeals because of its relative simplicity and lack of interior 'tacked on' screens. Has some actual switchwork/controls! The Z looks somewhat similar and agreed, for around $40k for 400hp, definitely merits a look. I'm a little wary of...

Desertnate Greetings! Curious if you still have the BRZ and if so, thoughts on your now ‘long term’ experience with it? Went and test drove a tS model today, seems like a hoot from my albeit limited time with it. Pondering getting outta the German car rat race and BRZ seems like nice, fun...
