Bicycle detailing - 1985 Mongoose Expert

Wow everyone use to race BMX! I am 24, I raced from 11-17 years old. Started out on a Redline and was co-sponsored by them as well. I never kept them clean though because I was too lazy at that age. Haha. Wish I would have kept all my bikes I had!

Which Accessories to Use? Is this the right method?

I'm not telling you that it's the best product out there. Or that it's 100% effective, but for your sake it might be a good thing.

Which Accessories to Use? Is this the right method?

Look up CarPro HydrO2. It's a spray sealant that literally requires not much of your time. Basically spray on and rinse off. YouTube could educate you on how it works. Basically spray on your rinsed surface while the water is still sitting on your vehicle. Rinse again. Bam. Sealed.

    Wash and Wax Shampoo

I love CarPro Reset, even on an uncoated surface. Only need like 1.3oz, foams in a bucket nicely, and great lubricity. I only use it for my higher end details. Otherwise I'm a Mr. Pink fan. I am on my second gallon. In less than a year. While in the midst, also using CG Honeydew, Citrus Wash and...

    2012 Ford F-150 (Exterior)

Looks good! Do you have issues with HD SPEED clogging your hexlogic pads really fast? That's the issue I've had with it. Otherwise it's an amazing AIO.

Just purchased a Nanoskin foam pad and...

Awesome, thanks Mike! The good news is I just got my 3401 in the mail yesterday, so I'll have to give that a shot. I have the Griots 6", the Torq 10FX, and the 3401. So I kind of have some that I can play with too and see what works best for my situation. Thanks again, I appreciate the...

Just purchased a Nanoskin foam pad and...

What's the best product to use with it? I like using ONR in the dilution it calls for, using a clay bar. I just feel like that's not going to have enough lubricity to compensate for that faster rotating pad. But am I wrong? Also, would the pad be best to use on a short throw DA or a long throw...

I had a DD today, Duramax Detail.

The wheel wells were done. The rear ones have many burnouts in them haha. Any good solution for that?

I had a DD today, Duramax Detail.

Ahhh a medium sized ladder and held on tight. I'm actually gonna have to tell him that if he wants that polished and coated he's gonna have to wait till I get my new shop, because the shop I am currently at is my buddies dad's and I don't trust his ladders, for my sake and the trucks sake...

    Cquartz question(or coating in general)

CQUK was designed to apply in cold weather climates, and is very finicky. I taught myself to use it and if I didn't have much experience I would have fell flat on my face trying to figure it out. It's definitely not user friendly if you're a weekend warrior. I'm gonna try just regular CQ next.

This is this dudes 6th or 7th time seeing me in about 8 months. He comes back for regular washes, decontamination, and now this is his second time coming back for a polish. I don't have before and afters, but I have the finished product. -Washed with ONR -Cleaned the inner fenders with...

My FIRST bad interaction with customer

I totally 100% agree with you. I do have a package option for decontaminating that includes wax and wheels and tires and all that good stuff, but like I said. Some people don't want to pay that little bit extra. Everyone that gets a wash and wax with me I give a verbal disclaimer explaining that...

My FIRST bad interaction with customer

Well I mean he was a super nice guy, but right away I could tell that he had high expectations but didn't want to spend the extra few bucks to even decontaminate the paint. I do appreciate constructive criticism though. I mean, I'm all self taught. On all ends of the spectrum. No one showed me...

My FIRST bad interaction with customer

Thanks for the info guys, I don't think that he will say anything bad as I did actually offer him and his wife to quickly take care of them before they left. I also had to explain to him, though, that with the service I did that it would not remove those. I don't think my reputation is harmed...

My FIRST bad interaction with customer

It was 2 cars, the Buick and the VW, but I know what you mean. If I would have done decontamination I would have more than likely taken the scuffs out, but in not gonna take the scuffs out when all I did was a wash and wax.

    Washing suede MF's

Okay makes sense. I guess it's not a big deal, they're fairly cheap in comparison to the charge for the service. I appreciate the info though.

My FIRST bad interaction with customer

I have been detailing part-time for almost a year. I have never had a customer be displeased or unhappy, as I tell ALL my customers that if they notice something I missed (because I am not perfect) that they can bring the vehicle back and I'll touch-up or fix what I missed for free. So I...
