I've been doing the same thing with the Dawn dishwashing liquid on a warm cycle in the wash machine, then multiple cold water rinse cycles. Seems to work well and the towels are holding up well, now that some of them are a couple of years old.

I just got my Foam Master gun and the new Microfiber Glass towels in the 6 pack. Then as a nasty suprise, we got about 4 inches of wet snow, followed of course with about 4 inches of salt and sand on the streets. Hurry up Spring!
