Touchless/foaming soap to remove salt and add beading?

Living in Ohio and doing snow removal/salting make it a battle keeping our trucks and equipment clean. Especially this year when we're out a couple times a week spreading salt, its pretty normal for me to wash trucks twice a week. My personal truck i try to keep waxed with Collinite 845 or...

    Show your portable Detailer Bags

Not a mobile detailer, just do my own vehicles(2 large trucks and Jeep), some friends stuff, and our excavation equipment. But since i don't have a dedicated space for washing/detailing i've gotta keep everything organized and easy to store in the garage. The bag came from Cabela's and was on...

What products do you recommend for DA Polishing

I just finished up my first "correction" tonight on my 05 Jeep Liberty, bit of a beater so its full of swirls/deep scratches/dents. I used a GG6 with 5.5" orange CCS pads. First off i tried D151, but i wasn't pleased with the correction. Next i tried Pinnacle compound but it was extremely...

NEW SONAX Cut & Finish - Extreme Showcar Makeover - Removing Holograms using the FLEX 3401

After reading this post and a post on facebook a while back i decided i'd get a bottle when i ordered a DA. Finally got a chance tonight to play with a DA for the first time tonight, and i'm extremely impressed by Cut & Finish. First product i used was Meguiars D151 with an orange pad, and...

Why am I so bad at cleaning wheels?

Maybe i'm just too "basic", but on my 8klb F-250 with 35" M/T's on 18" wheels with some dirty pads all i ever use is my regular soap and a dedicated wash mitt that never touches the body. Usually do 3-4 quick passes on the sidewall, and a good scrub on the wheels. Blow em off with a leaf blower...

Best pads and products to polish full-size trucks

Finally looking to step up and buy a DA. Not a professional detailer or going for show quality, just working on a few friends/family/fleet vehicles. Will be working on large trucks, service bodies, etc.. My personal truck is a '14 with 63k miles in pretty good shape, but will be working on some...

    Truck paint correction by hand

Thanks Mike and everyone else that chimed in! I think i have him and myself convinced to wait until i get a little better set-up before we tackle his truck. At least i showed him the 2BM for washing, should help to keep it from getting any more scratches or swirls, although at this point i'm not...

First 2bm/decontaminate on the big truck (3 hours!)

Looks good! And i know your pain with a large vehicle, almost makes me laugh anytime i hear/see somebody complain about detailing a car. These are my 2 daily drivers/work trucks, full time job if i want to keep them along with our equipment clean. Luckily i have a large heated shop...

    Truck paint correction by hand

I'm not opposed to buying a HF DA, although i would go ahead and buy a Porter Cable. But since i have 0 pads that would be another good chunk of change, ontop of buying whatever compounds or polishes i would need it adds up fast. It looks like once i buy everything to work on 2 trucks i'll be in...

    Truck paint correction by hand

Back in January a friend and I bought "new" trucks on the same day, mine being a 2014 tuxedo black F-250 and his is a 2005 F-350 King Ranch. My truck had been babied by the PO and only has some light swirls, while his truck came from Texas and was obviously worked hard. It has some pretty severe...

Keeping a black work truck/DD clean

Oh believe me, i'll be buying some equipment as soon as i can. I grew up handwashing 8 work trucks every weekend, and they all get hand waxed every winter with some cheap Turtle Wax. Makes for a good workout! Actually in the planning stages of a 40x40 shop at my parents house. Actually working...

Keeping a black work truck/DD clean

I'm a little west of Dayton, bought the truck at Germain of Beavercreek. Told myself when i started hunting for a truck in the fall i wasn't buying a northern truck, but that didn't happen. Read into the Hydro2, stuff sounds awesome! More than likely i'll be buying some to use on...

Keeping a black work truck/DD clean

Last month i bought myself a present for my 23rd birthday. :righton: 2014 F-250 in Tuxedo Black, sitting on 35" tires. Always loved how black vehicles look, but i'm now realizing how much of a pain it is to keep clean. My main work truck is a silver F-450, and my other vehicles are dark red so...
