    Transit truck detail pricing

I have a customer that owns a courier business and wants me to detail his fleet of trucks on a reoccurring basis. I am trying to figure out how to price him. What are some things I should think about before quoting him? What advice do you have as far as pricing a customer that has a fleet...

The Complete Guide to a Show Car Shine Paperback Book by Mike Phillips

I got both books yesterday and they are amazing! So much good info and entertaining as well. If you enjoy detailing, no matter if you're new or a veteran, you should get these.

    Scratches on a black car

Yeah, I think I'm going to hold off on doing any sanding.

Thanks Setec and everyone else, I appreciate the help and advice.

    Scratches on a black car

Yeah, it's a single scratch on the hood. It's my car so I don't have a problem chasing it. I'm going to use a microfiber pad on it. If that doesn't work I might try to sand it. To your point Setec, I promote myself as a detailer and I should be able to get this out. Luckily this is the first...

    Scratches on a black car

This is about as good of pictures as I could get. This is a 2007, when I got used, the paint was so dry feeling that you could scratch it easily with your fingernail. Since I've had it I've gotten all of the swirls out and all of the scratches out except for a couple of these. Scratches below...

    Scratches on a black car

I've watched Mike's video of slow and overlapping passes so much that it is like background music in my head while I work. I did this 4 times, checked it, again 6 times. So would conceses be the pad or the compound? I'm still going to get a microfiber pad regardless just want everyone's...

    Scratches on a black car

Thanks everyone for your help. Yeah, I've watched Mike's video on "slow overlapping passes" so much that it is playing like elevator music in my mind while I do it. I made 4 passes. Checked it and did it again with 6 passes. I also use another compound that isn't sold through AG and had great...

    Scratches on a black car

I've never had an issue before using it so I wasn't sure why it wouldn't work this time. This is a hobby turned business for m based on how many requests I've gotten to do other vehicles. Sorry if I offended anyone. I am all self taught through trial and error as well as videos on line. This is...

    Scratches on a black car

If you look on the Autogeek site it says that the yellow Lake Country pad is for severe oxidation, swirls and scratches.

    Scratches on a black car

Honestly, it's been mainly production detailing and I don't think there is any harm in that. I've detailed many people's cars and always explained what I could do and couldn't do before I went to an appt. I'm just trying to grow as a detailer, I guess this forum isn't the place for that...

    Scratches on a black car

Hey everyone, I had some minor scratches on my black Chrysler car, nothing too deep, just enough for me to notice. I washed the car, clayed it and went through the progressions of least aggressive treatment up with my Porter Cable. I got all the may to a Yellow Lake Country pad, XMT Heavy Duty...

Yes or no on the Mytee S300 Tempo?

Man, Nth Degree, I'm glad I saw this. Definitely not getting a Mytee now. Question, should I get a non heated extractor? Does it work well enough for the money? I do mobile detailing as well. Scott

EZ Up canopy's for driveway use and pickup trucks??

No, they don't fit under a 10x10, but what if did was take 2" pvc piping and cut (4) 2' pieces. Then take off the the little foot piece on the leg where you stake the canopy. You run a bolt about 8" from the bottom of the 2' pvc and slide your canopy legs into them. That will give you enough...

Yes or no on the Mytee S300 Tempo?

Good machine to use as a mobile detailer? Or should I go with a larger, heated Mytee and tell customers that if they have a severly soiled vehicle they have to come to my garage? I don't currently have room to take it with me to a detail. Thanks Scott

    Extractors

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I charge as much as my competitors, they all use extractors I'm sure. Am I wrong for this, just a question of ethics I guess. I've never had a complaint, but I don't want to cheat my customers from what they expect from a "professional".
