Black "chewing gum on pavement" like buildup

I'll try with just the goo-gone first before moving onto the putty knife. I have the Meguiars Ultimate Compound, Polish, and their DA power system (the kind that attaches to a drill)

Black "chewing gum on pavement" like buildup

I'll give that a go. I also have a plastic putty knife...would that be safe to use in conjunction with goo-gone?

Black "chewing gum on pavement" like buildup

Hi. My brother has never been the one to detail his car, never mind washing it on a regular basis. Also having the cheapest car in the family, the Subaru is condemned to park on the streets. I do try to wash it at least once a month and this time around i noticed some black gunk on the hood...

How to avoid scratching the paint while clay barring

I've heard some people go as far as to wash the car again after claying. I'm thinking I'll just start with a rigorous routine. Full wash, clay, waterless wash, polish, and finally wax. I'll be sure to use enough clay lube.

New car, first detail. Need advice on using Nanoskin autoscrub

I got mine for $5, I bought some aftermarket parts for my car and he just threw it in there. Since I have a white car, I think it won't be too bad. I might test it out on my brother's car--it's a darker gray and it's due a good polish anyway.

New car, first detail. Need advice on using Nanoskin autoscrub

Hi everyone, I've traded in my old car for a 2014 GTI. The paint looks reasonably well taken care of. No major defects, a bit of swirl marks, but the white hides it well. I'll be taking some time this weekend to do a quick detail--2 bucket wash, clay, cleaner wax, and top off with Mother's...

New to detailing (and car ownership)

Hey everyone. I'm waiting for the moderators to approve me, so I can get over to Meguiar's for a class.

New to detailing (and car ownership)

Hi everyone, My name is Tim, I live in LA and I am a new car owner (2013 VW Golf). With car ownership comes great responsibility. I've been doing my own maintenance for a while (just the lighter stuff such as engine/cabin filters, oil changes, etc.) but didn't have a vested interest in my...
