I was planning on the Flex but I think will start instead with the GG6 for now til I get a feeling for those DAs, and also since they have those smaller backing plates.

Anybody can recommend a 'foam gun' that's run by waterpressure only? I see a lot of different opinions... the water pressure in my house is very good.

so for light SCRATCHES on new paint... u would recommend LC hybrid orange pad? The scratches are just by the trunk space where u lift stuff over...top of the rear bumper..don't know what it's called......guess I did it to myself...don't think was by 'external' doing... nonetheless irritating..

so for those light scratches..IF i had a flex or other DA... what pad and polish would work best? some polish with low cut or do i have to go more agressive...same with pads... i buffed it out ok, but still not super happy how it looks..i want them gone again. ;)

yeah I am sure your right. like MF towels... they surely trap those nasty wood particles well... can't even get them out after a wash. Time for new ones again. ;) Oh and update on my DA journey... I think I am getting the FLEX if I have any $$ left around X-mas time. My car has so many edges...

like another user wrote...then counterweight.. does not need to be changed for sure if you use replace the "6 BP with a "5 BP... correct? I am not sure I want to mess with those parts of the equipment... I am not really a "TOOL GUY" gotta say...a drill is the closest I have come to electric...

I would just go with the larger 6" [pads...!?! Just dont get why I should use a 5" b.p. on a 6" DA polisher??? Was...

Still don't understand why I should use a 5" plate with a 6" DA?? ok, sounds good. tnx :) I was looking at a 3M backing plate... suppose to be good? So the size of the pads correlates with the size of the backplate? also cleaning those pads...guess I can't throw 'em in the laundry right.. ;)...

Yeah, seems like the Porter is the one I will go with 'cause for the price it seems like the best deal. Still confused about the backing plate/pads. Do I need to get a 5" or 6" backing plate? The pads need to be one size up? Like 6" pads for 5" backing plate?? Can I run the Porter with an...

thanks for your thoughts. I doesnt come with a backing plate though.. Also keep in mind I don't need lots of 'cutting' power as it would be used to maintain a new paint. ~~SD~~

I think for now I will go with your advice. The flex is prob great tool - but like $500 for a beginner... IDK... The Griot 6" is reasonable priced and to get a feeling for a DA it's prob good for a start. Which pads are you using with it? I might go with some 'lake country' like some other usw...
