Yes, understood. So you're saying I need to sand at least the surface of the badges if any lacquer I use can be (relatively) permanent? But if I get new badges I'll need to use supplied transfer paper guides(?) (after those new badges have been painted) to get all the badge letters straight in...

Thanks for the thought....I considered that but remembered what the dealership told me...that theirs might peel off. If that's the case (done by a pro) what might happen with ordinary nail polish? That's one of the reasons I wanted advice...thinking detail pros here could suggest a professional...
