I like to use oil based drying aids specifically for this reason. The solvents will help clean oil based residue from the paint. Using the optiseal will help. I've started to use and prefer 10min. Sealant

Hydro blue will be far more durable. Mckee's 10 min. Sealant is a much better option than optiseal.

A surface that sheets the water off before the water evaporates will leave very little mineral residue behind. Contrast this with beading that will concentrate the mineral residue in a small area and maximize the chances for etching. I've yet to see any single advantage of a product to bead water.

Loving McKee's 10 min. Sealant right now. Optiseal is another good choice.

Working well for me on top of Wolfgang coating. Also a good drying aid.

Spray directly on the panel. 2 sprays typically per panel. I'm currently using McKee’s 10 min sealant and liking it very much, but does have bit of a chemical smell. Optiseal is water clear with no smell.

UFF is one of the best Lsp I have found that resists dusts. Also looks great.

Towel kleen is only a pH of about 8 as I recall when I tested it. Would recommend a presoak of water based degreaser with Oxiclean for a few hours, and wash with same. This is how I'm now washing with great results. Need strong cleaners to attack dried sealants etc.

GG rinseless at 1oz to a gallon. Leaves a matte finish.

I just used Meg's UFF and it did a great job. Mckee's 37 waterless wash also works well for me.

I like to use a foam Cannon but I've yet to find a pH neutral soap that does much. My favorite is a residue free laundry detergent that is about pH 10. This even attacks break dust and doesn't damage lsp. Optimum Power Clean is another good product for a foam Cannon.

I just used the Wolfgang coating and it is very slick feeling.

Is this water or oil based?

I've over cleaned black pebble trim and turn it streaky....

Optiseal and /or Optimum car wax. Both easy to use with little smell and difficult to mess up. Doesn't get easier than optiseal.

PiPUK, thanks for posting such great information! I'm not a chemist but have studied lubricants quite a bit. What you are saying about the behavior of surfactants makes perfect sense.

I've used Optimum Ferrex a couple of times now and am very impressed. Reaction is very obvious and fast. Clings well. Also removes or degrades sealants, and there was almost nothing picked up by a clay mitt. Some smell but not bad.
