My new (to me) project car

Wow! Very impressive even if you are a newbie. I'd love to find a project car like this, especially one from the 80's or 90's.

Rusted Cast Iron / Iron X / Iron remover

Yeah Iron X isn't food grade safe. I'd steer away from using it. But the I like the outside the box thinking! Seems like there should be a good answer out there as cast iron has been used for hundreds of years.

Thinking about buying a Legacy or Fusion - any thoughts?

I had a 2013 Fusion 2.0T AWD. It was a nice car. It held the kids well. The transmission needed sorting out though, well the programming of the transmission needed it. It searched for gears, delayed shifting etc. I traded it for a Tacoma so I went in a different direction than yourself.

    Summer go-fasts

Back in the day Ohio would allow studded snow tires from Oct 15 to Apr 15. I had some back on my beater 94 S10 in high school. Ever since then that was the schedule I followed for snow/summer tires regardless of studded or not.

    Cash or credit?

As a fair warning, most merchant agreements prohibit from adding additional markup for credit card processing. That said, unless you are reported, they generally only go after the high transaction merchants.

    Environmental Question

Thanks for the info! That put me onto a lot of (slightly confusing) research. I think I'm going to try and do no-rinse washes and steam cleaning to avoid causing any runoff. With time I'd like to get a good reclamation system that would allow the advantage of a power washer. At least that's...

    Environmental Question

I'm in Ohio and the Ohio EPA requires a permit for putting waste water into the sanitary system depending on whether it is hazardous or not. I couldn't find any msds sheets on various washes I was looking at using. I want to do my homework before I get going.

    Environmental Question

Interesting stuff. Thanks for the info. I was thinking about mahjong something similar using a tarp and beach towels and just soak up the waste water. Those berms look pretty good though.

    Environmental Question

Hi all, I've been around Autogeek off an on for a number of years mainly for research. I've been collecting data/info on doing detailing part-time as I have a passion for cars and really enjoy the work. I've read Renny's book (twice now) and it has fired me up more than I was prior. Has...
