I have generally used Dr Wack products on my bike; you may have them as Sdoc100 or P21s in the US. All completely safe and used by hand. Their total gel cleaner is awesome.

Erm, remove the bottle and spray water through it for a few seconds. Foam cannon is now clean. Put bottle back on and put away. How are you cleaning yours?
