It probably has some kind of factory undercoating, but I don't think the previous owner did any rust proofing - it's been always garaged and driven 3000 miles per year.

Thanks for all the responses! At this point, I'm probably gonna contact local contractors to see how much exactly would it cost to pave the driveway. My alternative option would be to add larger size stones to make sure they don't get stuck in tires.

Sorry about your situation! It seems to me though that a 1/3 mile driveway is a much bigger problem than a 100-foot driveway, cause you would have to actually drive on that gravel, even if slow. For me, on the other hand, it'll be maybe 15 seconds of crawling at 2 mph... still worried about...

Snow is the whole different issue, but in winter I'll be driving an suv so I'm not that concerned about it
