    Microfiber swirls

Haven't tried the blue combo yet. I get most of my correction done with the green pad. But right now i'm between Rupes and Menzerna. Probably going to go with Rupes, just because that's what's most available to me. Menzerna would have to be ordered elsewhere.

    Microfiber swirls

I apply 5-7 pea size dots of polish on the primed pad, and do 5-6 passes per section. I spread the polish on speed 2-3, and work the polish on speed 5-6(i always make sure that there is enough compound/polish on the surface, and that the surface is not too hot). I then wipe off most of the...

Also what do you guys think of Menzerna compounds/polishes? Specifically Heavy Cut Compound 1000 for heavy cutting with the Rupes Blue/Green pad. Menzerna Medium Cut Polish 2500 with the Rupes yellow pad and then Menzerna Super Finish 3500 with the Rupes white pad?

    Microfiber swirls

the swirls are all over the panel, not on certain spots. The test panel is off a 2005 VW. I also tried Rupes yellow pad and 3M Fine Compound after heavy cutting, but with no big difference. I also did a blue metallic 05 VW Touran a few days back, using the same green pad/fast cut and white...

    Microfiber swirls

The compound/ultrafine polish combo seems to work well. Takes care of all the haze left by the compound. And pretty surely these are swirls, not chips.

That may be the case. I'll try changing my MF towels, hopefully that's my problem. And i got out all deeper scratches. So there shouldn't be any reason why the swirl marks should still be there.

    Microfiber swirls

My towels are quite soft and plush, yet not the most expensive ones. Do you think the polishes i use are the problem? I've gotten good results with the 3m compounds/polishes. Just did a 2017 audi dark grey using a yellow pad/fine compound and white pad/ultrafine combo with good results. I really...

    Microfiber swirls

I use a short throw DA, compounded with rupes green foam pad and 3m Fast Cut Compound. Polished using rupes yellow pad and 3m ultrafine polish.

    Microfiber swirls

Hey. Need a little help. I've always had problems with swirling after wiping off waxes/polishes. So i did some tests. I compounded/polished a black metallic scrapyard front quarterpanel. Did an IPA wipedown after both steps. Shined a light on the panel and presto, tons of swirls. I ordered some...

So results after ultrafine pad and polish combo and M21. Still notice some light marring after wiping. So i guess it comes down to the MF towels i use.

Sorry, meant to say marring. I don't wash new towels prior to using them. Heading to the garage soon. Going to try using a finer polish with a finer pad to finish, and apply M21 by hand. Just to see if that makes a difference in the finish. I'll snap a pic of the finish too.

I've also used Megs Yellow Wax and Finixa Machine wax. Both yield the same crappy result. So that means i'm doing something wrong. I personally think its a matter of not using polish that's fine enough and that my MF towels are not good enough. Just for giggles, i wiped over one panel with an...

    Need a little help!

I'm using the perfect it 2 series. All i can think of right now, is to use Ultra Fine Polish with Rupes white pad, do an IPA wipedown before M21, and use higher grade MF towels. Megs supreme shine ones are the best ones available where im located.

    Need a little help!

Could you define LSP for me please? I use Fine COMPOUND as a polish. So maybe replace that with the 3M ultra fine polish, as right now i'm using something that is basically a compound. And i am seriously considering switching to full meguiars - pads and compounds/polishes. But i see people using...

    Need a little help!

Okay. Thnaks for clearing that up. So basically i could try using a softer pad-polish combo to finish. Also using higher quality MF towels. And i guess IPA wipedowns would not hurt as well. Also lowering my machine speed and increasing arm speed when polishing.

    Need a little help!

I typically use speed 5 for compounding and polishing. Arm speed relatively low, but always check the temperature of the surface with the back of my hand. Again, the defects i have are more like smears that shift and move around/change direction as i wipe over them. And as far as i know...

Im using a 9mm throw random orbital. But would marring caused by towels or pads shift around when wiped?

    Need a little help!

Im using a cheap(er) kind of 9mm throw random orbital. But would marring caused by towels or pad shift around when i wipe over it?

    Need a little help!

I'm using a generic harbor freight type random orbital with 9mm throw. The 3M Fine Compound is not the finest polish yes, being a compound actually. But would marring caused by the pad-polish combo or MF towels move around when i wipe over it?
