DI Water System - Talk me off the ledge!

I have owned a CR spotless for 4 years now. I have a love hate relationship with it that has led to it collecting dust in my garage. I love that getting spot free results are easy but I hate the downsides. The downsides for me are: 1. It gives you the ability to get spot free results, but I...

    Anodized Rotor Clean and Protect

Thank you! It is for an Audi, though the rotors I upgraded to are not Audi OEM.

    Anodized Rotor Clean and Protect

Sorry, my post wasn't super clear. I am referring to the anodized aluminum hats on the rotors only, not the rotors themeselves. I believe the products I am using now would not harm the hats and the coating I would like to put on the hat would work, but I want to be sure. Just looking to keep...

    Anodized Rotor Clean and Protect

Hello Everyone, I recently upgraded the rotors on one of my cars. The rotor hats are "Aerospace Grade Aluminum Hats with Type III Hard Anodizing." I believe the products I am using below are safe to use on the on anodized aluminum hats but wanted to see what y'all thought? If not what would...

    Looks like Overspray, thoughts?

I wanted to provide an update. Got a call yesterday. I was given two options, use their body shop to have this re-done or since I know a shop that has done great work for me in the past I could go there. I will be going with the shop I have worked with in the past. Thank you for offering...

    Looks like Overspray, thoughts?

I was hopeful this was overspray, not familiar with how it can look as I don’t see it but I am familiar with how to remove it. I was fearful it was something worse in the finishing process which unfortunately it appears to be. This is a new car. I already let the dealer know yesterday and I...

    Looks like Overspray, thoughts?

Hello, We just purchased a new family vehicle and unfortunately there were some nasty marks down to the panel around the c pillar area upon delivery. Long story short the dealer took it to a body shop to be fixed and it was ready today. While the deep marks look good the entire area they...

    New ride!!

First off congratulations on the new ride! Regarding the coating it depends on what you want to get out of it and how long you want it to last. My top two choices from what you have given so far would be Gtechniq CSL + EXO or CarPro CQuartz UK 3.0. Gtechniq CSL + EXO is my favorite DIY...

    Ibex coating

Hello, Anyone here familiar with Ibex coatings and more specifically how difficult they are to remove fresh? I have done multiple paint corrections and ceramic coating installs, but I can't find much on Ibex removal. Would a Rupes yellow and sonax PF suffice to remove the coating or do I need...

Using snow foam to wash car

Op- Going to second the above CleanIT. That rinse in-between the foam and shampoo helps avoid the risk of product drying on a hot summer day, or even just a day with intense sunlight.

New coating - first wash - Reset or something else?

For Ceramic coatings I generally would match the shampoo to the coating. For example CQuartz with Reset, CSL with G wash etc. With that being said, Reset is a great shampoo and you should be fine using it every wash.

    Best Brand Top to Bottom

Old post, but after searching no mention of Gtechniq. I have used a lot of brands and Gtechniq has to be my favorite overall lineup. They may not have the best product in every category, but they do have a very solid stable of products. More importantly they are mostly easy to work with to...

A string of dead end phone calls..

I felt this was relevant enough with your situation that I thought I would share. I do detailing on the side, it is my passionate hobby where my actual career (cyber security sales) pays the bills. A few years ago I was in a slump of my own. I had always had peaks and valley's before, but as...

how much tds is too high

You would spot some (light), but I would imagine those water spots would be easy enough to remove when you go to wash your car for real. I agree that it sucks seeing your car dirty, but I would still advise you to wait until you can wash it properly. Options for dealing with winter is...

how much tds is too high

They used to say that and I usually go to that point; however their documentation with my unit says anything over 0 ppm could cause spotting. OP- The official answer is anything over 0 ppm on the CR spotless TDS meter could cause spotting. Truthfully 50 ppm is very low on a TDS meter. Are you...

Yay or Nay on if I should Clay - detailing poems and haikus

If you are stripping what's left and reapplying you should 100% clay as part of a decontamination wash prior to applying another coating to ensure the surface is prepped properly. By clay I mean use a nano skin fine auto scrub mitt or pad. They will save you a boatload of time over traditional...

    12-year-old Honda

Sometimes people get caught up in "what is the best" product in X category when what matters is how you use your products. Don't get me wrong, the products you can use certainly can make a difference but technique is far more important imo. Car looks great for something that sees real...

I don't disagree that the fact that air vents could do this on neglected cars, but every 2-4 weeks seems excessive.

    Rim and tire Cleaner

There really isn't a "best" cleaner in my opinion. Many of the major companies out there make quality products. Personally I would not use a tire and wheel cleaner as these should really be two separate products. You want a degreaser for your tires and an iron spray for your wheels. I...

User friendly ceramic coating with a slick finish?

For user friendliness and longevity I am a fan of Gtechniq CSL + EXO. As Guz said EXO does take away some slickness; however it makes up for that in the gloss and repellency added to your applied areas.
