What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

It's one of those if-you-know-you-know tricks. I've also found Tarminator is great for removing carbon stains from chrome exhaust tips, in particular when normal cleaning or polishing doesn't get the job done.

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Stoner's Tarminator or mineral spirits will strip tyres right down to a bare finish. Both are considered solvents and I've use both depending on the situation. However, I much prefer Tarminator for a couple of key reasons - - With mineral spirits, you will need to buy a spray bottle of some...

    DFB's Garage

I have some of the Meguiar's in stock, as well as the Optimum coating. You can still see some of the sanding marks, so I'm thinking of going over them again and see what I get.

From what I understand, taillights don't get (or need) the same UV clear coating applied to headlights. In theory, that means you can polish them earlier in the vehicles life.

    DFB's Garage

After I detailed this 2012 Toyota Landcruiser back in April, I noted that the headlights were needing attention due to heavy oxidation and crazing. The owners have been using the vehicle more and more for caravan towing, doing some big distances in the process. I mentioned the headlights weren't...

    Perfectly Safe Brush

Well, under that argument, DIY should stop supplying bottles of product with a trigger sprayer, they can just use whatever is lying around the garage. As for it increasing the price, that's a silly argument as well. The Ultra Safe Brush is $24.99 USD. You can buy similar brushes on Amazon for...

The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Bloody oath it did! I also took it out this afternoon with absolutely nowhere to go in mind. I found a nice curvy road, selected track mode, gearbox in manual, windows down to hear the track exhaust mode echo off the trees. Absolute bliss!

    Aussie Muscle!

This video is from Shannon's Insurance, think Hagerty in the USA and you'll understand what they do. This series covers a variety of vehicle design deep-dives, in this case Ford during the 90's and 2000's. You may recognise some of the names being mentioned. Did you know Aussies were having a go...

New car interior process and product question

Pilot sits between an interior detailer and an interior cleaner. It has way more cleaning ability than ONR or InnerQD, but something like Xpress, Pol Star or Griots Interior Cleaner would have more outright cleaning power. That said, I've seen Pilot lathered up with a brush to increase its...

The point is, they are selling an incomplete product that requires you to go to a store and buy something to make it usable. Hardly a premium buying experience. Why not just buy it all the hardware store.

    Perfectly Safe Brush

These brands are aimed at the pro-sumer / enthusiast market. With that in mind, who would dare wash their car with a brush, no matter how seemingly convenient it is? Frankly, its an insult to their customers intelligence. It's a marketing stunt pure and simple. As for the handle not being...

    Perfectly Safe Brush

That means either there a LOT of dumb people following their dribble, or its a situation similar to when Pan launched his product line, which sold out in hours, read - we only ordered a small amount so that it would sell out quickly and appear to be more popular than it really is, creating a...

New car interior process and product question

I don't like leather coatings, but if you are wanting longevity, its probably the only option for you. Otherwise, I would be cleaning it (yes, even on a new car) with a leather cleaner, then applying ColourLock Leather Shield, which is a friction, abrasion and dye transfer blocker that you would...

    Perfectly Safe Brush

They get far more traction from making bold statements about a product, tool or procedure than presenting logical, informative information. Take this stupid brush for example. In no way is this an interesting or special brush, hell it doesn't even come with a handle. Had they made a short...
