Myths in Detailing and Detailing Products

No, we are on the same page....using different angle/lighting in before and after shots SHOWS NOTHING on how the product or procedure worked. Beauty shots are great, but like I tell my son when he does his homework "show your work, don't just put down the answer"

    Need Some Help with PC

The main thing to remember when polishing is to work the polish in until it has broken down before removing the residue. My website has a section on polishing with pictures and videos Car Detailing - How to polish your paint to a high gloss finish Good luck!

Average time to polish a car (2wice) with 3401?

Time will vary so it can average anywhere from 4 hours to 8 hours to polish a car that size. The amount of time spent polishing will depend on machine speed, pressure, outside temp. humidity, condition of the car, etc....

    Yukon gets some Souveran lovin'

Nothing, they bolt right on...the only difference is the Denali headlights use 9005 bulbs for both low and high beams....instead of 9006 for the low beams in the stock Yukon housing.

    Yukon gets some Souveran lovin'

Thanks! Yes they are Boss polished (superfine finish) 301's...I use Meguiars Hot Rims Mag & Wheel aluminum polish (works great and is cheap) or Clearkote Metal polish for light marring or oxidation and Metallwerks Polishes for deeper scratches/marring/oxidation. I also protect them with 2-3...

    Yukon gets some Souveran lovin'

Thanks all, it had been a while since I was able to do more than ONR and QD...but with good washing/drying techniques there was no need to polish. Been busy, family & working on a business plan for my restaurant. Detailing was also put on hold for a while because I tweaked my back during...

    New Menzerna Product !

I don't know about it being out since last summer but I've had some for about 3 months now. It's a very good finishing polish with less cut than PO85rd, but does removes hazy/micromarring with ease and leaves a beautiful finish. I've used it a handful of times and didn't notice that big of a...

    Yukon gets some Souveran lovin'

Yesterday was the first day in about 4 months that I was able to do more than a simple wash to my Yukon. The paint was in good condition with very little spiderwebbing, so little that there was no need to polish. - Wash - Spot clay - hood, bumper, lower panels, rear - paint cleanser -...

Thanks Budman3, I'm have a blast shooting them. Thanks I'm using a Nikon 80-200mm f2.8 AF-S lens and some of the shots are with a 1.4x teleconverter. The D300 focusing and tracking is incredible, plus the fps is 8 compared to the 3fps on the D70. The third shot above is from a burst after...

Waxing techinque, Do you work it in?

There is no need to work in a non abrasive wax/sealant because they contain nothing that needs to be broken down or worked in. They are top coats and should be applied as thin as possible with very little to no pressure. Cover the area with a thin coat and move on.

tried out my new flex today

Thanks!! I used speed 6 on both machines in the video to compare the cutting abilities at their top speed. You can definitely work it in at speed 4 and finish working it in at speed 6. Speeds 4 and 5 do cut very well with the Flex....If you do use a lower speed, just make sure to slow...
