I was wondering if any of you guys have had any issues, or heard of Nissan's having excessive rust? My wife has an 06 Altima, the other week I was putting brakes on it, and when I was looking underneath to find a spot for the jack, I saw the floor pans were almost completely rotted through. The car has 109,000 miles on it. I called Nissan north America and they opened a case, and now I have to go to the dealership and have a technician look at it. Anyone else heard of this issue? Sorry I don't have any pictures.

Yep pretty familiar with this. Had an 04 Maxima with 70,000. Had a hole on each side in the front larger than a gallon paint container. Traded it in last year. Never again. if you Google search maxima/altima rust you'll find more info. Good luck with the case but I doubt Nissan will do anything for you.

Yep, the Altima and maxima sit on the same frame. I would love to get rid of it but, it will be paid for in December and my wife LOVES the car. I'm not getting my hopes up with Nissan, but I'll feel better knowing I put up a fight. Thank you.

Keep us updated on how Nissan addresses this. I am curious, since I'm a Nissan owner myself.

Ofcourse he said that. My wifes owned 5 Altimas over the past 15 years or so, she has an 09 now, we've never had any issues like rust, but then again we're in Florida.
