Quick detail session for an upcoming event, turned into a 2 day + detail.

1928 USFA Pumper

Fenders on Officer Side fenders and hood were covered in over spray and felt like sand paper when running your hand over them, lots of clear coat scratches and probably hasnt been waxed in a few years, just gets washed. Mostly get used for parades and funeral. Nothing a heavy cutting pad and a PC couldnt handle....First day was polishing brass and chrome nozzles and large couplings and today was paint work. For a quick job i think it turned out pretty nice!

That is so cool,my very first job when I moved to fla was a old single stage fire truck that belonged to the Florida youth ranch very very nice.

Thanks! The amount of hard to reach areas are unreal. Lots and lota of detail on this rig. But, being a member of the department, it fulfills a sense of pride!

Any one have any tips on polishing brass? The brass thats on the rig now, doesnt look like its been touched in years, and is looking pretty sad.

You could try Brasso which is available at Home Depot and other retail outlets.

Some polishes for brass that are sold at AGO are:
