I did this car for the president of my dad's car club (my dad is the vice president).

This is probably one of the cleanest cars anyone has brought me as you can see in the before pictures.

The defects in the paint were fairly difficult to photograph, but these two pictures were the best I could do.

Rims were pretty clean with barely any brake dust.

After cleaning the tires, rims, and wheel wells.

Strip wash.

The paint was already in excellent shape.

However, under closer inspection there were some minor swirls.

True condition of the paint now.

Only after shot I have of the entire car due to the weather, but I will try and post some sun pictures when the owner picks the car up.

Thanks for checking it out!

American muscle cars sweet, very nice job on that classic keep up the good work

Nice job! Thanks for sharing your work and I look forward to your next detail write up!

Nice job! It is amazing when going to car shows just how poor the condition is on a lot of these cars, mainly due to guys pulling out a dirty MF rag from their trunk and wiping the car down. Came out really nice.

Excellent work!

It's real easy to take a car that's in really bad shape and do and extreme makeover and then show the dramatic before and after shots.

What's a lot harder is to take something that's actually in very good condition and then take the paint to its maximum potential. A lot of collectible cars fall into this type of scenario.

Good job!

I have one of these waiting. My friend still has his first car and it is a Mustang like this, only in a yellow color. It has been under a cover for years, and we are going to get it back to its former beauty.

HUMP

Great job on getting the paint in even better shape! Where you able to get those results with just polishing? What kind of wax did you use?

That car is plain and simple, yet so sporty looking and now clean and mean. Wow! Nice work. Love the color.

What products did you use?

Nice work! Keep it up I am about to do one when the car gets done!

Great job and write-up. Also curious what products you used.

Thanks for all the comments! For those who were interested, I use a combination of Menzerna polishes and microfiber cutting pads and foam polishing pads on all my details.

I yell at my dad about the same thing when he goes to a car show. I gave him some plush microfiber towels and some detail spray, but he just wants to wipe all over the car if he sees one speck of dust. As we all know, this is the quickest way to scratch the paint. (His car will be my next write-up).

Thanks Mike! I'm a huge fan of your work, so I really appreciate you taking the time to look at my write-up. :)

The picture of the paint was actually before I applied the wax (not sure why I posted it after). So yes, the results were from polishing alone. The wax was "Adam's Patriot Wax", and I mostly bought it for the container it came in. I've never really noticed much of a difference between properly polished, and properly polished and waxed paint.

Really?

To the OP, what products did you use and how long did it take you?

Nice work! I went to some of the Middle Peninsula CC shows when I was stationed in Hampton, VA. Always had plenty to look at!

Later,
Lee
