1986 Buick Regal T-Type Turbo - Upcoming Project Car

One of my co-workers owns a mint condition 1986 Buick Regal T-Type Turbo and we're going to do a makeover on it to take the paint to its maximum potential. My co-worker also let me know the car is available for sale, I can put you in contact with him if anyone is interested.

Without further ado...

Nice looking car. I always loved the G bodies, I use to own an 86 Olds 442.

85 mph speedometer! Those were the days...:xyxthumbs:

Those are pretty rare, less than 2500 made I believe. I'd say it should sell between $15-20K even in these painful times, especially after Mike The Master has put the full whammy on it.

Why did they ever stray away from the sharp body lines?!?!?!?!?!?!? Vehicles look so much better with nice crisp, sharp and aggresive body lines...

Really?! Wow I didn't expect that!

Just a guess on my part. Primo condition, reasonably low mileage and rarity all add to the value. I just googled up one for $29,500 but it had a great deal of upgrades including a $7,000 paint job......can't wait to see the progress on the one featured here.

Ah...the lesser-known cousin of the Grand National. I remember when there was a T-Type of every Buick model, that was when Lloyd Reuss was GM of Buick.

85 mph speedometer! Those were the days...:xyxthumbs:

I owned 3 Yamaha Seca 750's and two of them had Speedometers that went to 165 mph and one of them had a Speedometer that went to like 85 mph.

The problem with the model that has the Speedometer that only goes to 85 mph is that you never know how fast you're really going...

:D

If it's the original paint, GM lacquer, I'll be watching this closely, Mike. I learned a bunch from your published SS paint article, but I'm sure the master has a few more tricks you haven't shared yet.

I think it does have the original paint, it's always been garage kept and it's actually in very nice condition, the paint and the car. It needs to be clayed and then lightly polished and sealed, so I'm happy to say it's not going to be a major correction.

Most of my detailing life the cars I've been asked to work on are usually one close decision from going to a body shop for repainting, I'm always happy to have something come along that is actually in nice condition that just needs a little TLC.

Love the Turbo T's (essentially a Grand National in street clothes)

What a great car! I am really looking forward to this one. Especially since Mike will be putting his hands on it.

I'm Intrested in the price tag when its done...... :xyxthumbs:

That is one sweet ride, my favorite was the GNX. I used to own a 1993 GMC Typhoon, and got along with quite a few owners of Buick's turbo cars.

Oh my, freaking sweet car! And WELL maintained judging from the pics. If I wasn't in the middle of a project getting this shop stuff paid for I'd be all over that, it's not only rare but in great condition! Wanna trade it for my srt-4? Haha :)

NADA Guides says high retail is $19,700. Nice car. A friend of mine had one until a tree fell over in a storm and crushed the roof into the floorboard. Very similar (i.e. Year, make, model, etc.), only it was a very light blue. Always loved those cars. Good luck on the sale and have fun on the project.

What an awesome car!!

Nice to see something rare like this in such incredible condition.
