Little background on this car:
This is my buddy Matt's 99 Cobra that he has had since 2002, and has only been on the road for the past 9 months after sitting a little over 6 years, so it's got it's fair share of built up dirt. In addition, Matt's a tech so dirt and grease is common place.
This is easily the VERY WORST car I've detailed, as it has 6 years of dirt, fade, bird droppings, tree fallout, you name it, on the surface. I have been working on it here and there as a favor to him because he has helped me tremendously when it comes to car stuff.
So far I have about 8-9 hrs into the car and I've just gotten to the interior, and clay/compound/polish of the hood and trunk. I have started with some teaser pics and I will be adding them as I go:
Interior:
APC+ cut 4:1 and various scrubbing utensils
Stoner's Invisible Glass
Bissell Little Green Machine (great tool for the price!)
Exterior:
Meguiar's Shampoo Plus w/ APC+ mixed.
Detailer's Pro Series Ultimate Clay Bar
Meguiar's M105 on Orange LC pad
Meguiar's M205 on White LC pad
Collinite's 845 by hand with 20-30 minute setup time.
Interior Before:
Door Panel:
Steering Wheel:
Seat:
Fender test spot:
After claybarring/before M105:
Starting to knock out the hood/fender. One pass with M105 and orange pad
Hood finished after M205 on white pad:
As you can see, the M105 does a great job, but I could probably get more out of the paint if I stepped up to the yellow pad:
Letting the 845 get greasy on there:
Wiped:
