I was finaly able to do a full paint correction on my good buddy’s 1999 GAGT. Me and Tim had talked about it in the past but since he lives 3+ hours away it took us almost a year to finaly setup a weekend to do it. It needed it badly, definitely beyond saving but well worth trying, we think it came out great considering what we started with.
Wash with foam gun and megs goldclass
Clay with an old mothers claybar I had, didn’t wanna waiste a new one on this, it was THAT bad. VHT and rubber all the way down the sides from the track and all the other surfaces where loaded with some seriously bad contaminants.
Rotary with edge2K 6” pads, optimum compound at 1500-2400 rpm
Porter Cable with Danase 5” CCS polishing pads and LC 4” polishing spot pads, megs #80 speed 6 the whole way.
Megs #26 high tech yellow wax

wow!! night and day differance! good job! :applause: :applause:

The whole car needs to be wooled but i wanted to try to make the biggest difference possible with only a 2 step polishing.

from what i see you acheived your goal..plenty of shine/depth you made a big improvement in the paint

That is one sweet detail you guys did...hahaha the pictures tell all....quite literally hahaha I really liked the one with both of you passed out one huging the beer and the other with a beer in his hand hahahaha that's wicked :righton: hahahaha.

Okay all serous now, the vehicle looks wicked. The 50/50 pictures are wicked. The pictures out side in the sun are the best. The sun show's all and black hydes nothing. Very nice, a job well done.

Thank you for sharing.

You guys did a very good job! The black shines again, the sun shows that you did a great work! I like the shine from #26. Sweet! You guys really like beer :p

Awesome job! Love those 50/50 shots too. Out in the sun, that car's gleaming!

It looks like you guys had lotsa fun hahah. The results are beautiful. Too bad I can't drink beer during a detail...yet :p

I was most impressed with how much cutting power OC has.

Ive used it in the past and its always worked great but ive never used it on paint that was this bad before.

Nice job, love the beer pics. That was funny, I liked that. You have that Grand Am looking awesome....
