Two very simple questions for someone prepping their car(s) for winter.

My car currently has OCW on it, with DG AW as a "weekly" wax applied on top. Coming for winter I'd like to swap to 845, do I need to do a "dawn dish soap" car wash to strip the wax off first or can I apply 845 as the car is now, its been around 3 weeks since a wash&wax

2nd question: I purchased some LC CCS pads to apply the 845 (red ones) which side does the product go on? the dimpled one or the smooth one? it seems the dimpled one based on the CCS description on LC site, but I can't access youtube or any video sites to verify, hoping for a clear answer here.

Thanks Everyone!:dblthumb2:

Dawn does not strip LSP's unless they are "done" anyway

This is by a figure who, I have learned, was somewhat controversial here on AGO, but I found it informative:

Since you are changing LSP's, removing the previous product may be a good idea, but is not required

There are quite a few good paint cleansers for this job. I have used Pinnacle Paintwork Cleaner. It seemed to work fine. It is usually suggested that these type of products are applied "wet", meaning use more that you would if polishing. I believe it is intended to allow the cleaners to work more effectively.
