2000 Mazda Millenia Millennium

This car was probably one of the worste ive delt with yet. The previous owner must have washed the car with a scratch pad or steel wool, it’s the only thing I can think of that may have caused this kind of damage. It’s a shame, IMO it’s a beautiful color with tons of flake, the body lines are sexy and has real clean look to it.
After doing a test spot for the owner it was realized that most of the panels on the car needed to be wetsanded and buffed out. The owner bought this car as a winter beater and did not want to pay for wet sanding. So we came to an agreement. Only 2 compounding and polishing steps and what does not come out he will live with. Kinda upset me cuase I really wanted to use my wool pads.
Process
Washed with Optimum carwash in foam gun, only 1 bucket, no grit guard, old mitt, no way was I gonna make this paint any worse anyways.
Clay- claymagic blue
Makitta rotary
Orange edge2K pad with optimum compound at 1800rpm’s
Blue edge2K pad with optimum polish at 1000rpm’s
Loung Hual polish/sealant (AIO)
Duragloss aquawax

Before I even touched it:

Foamed down with optimum, this is after 5 minutes of dwelling time:

This is ONLY an 18”x18” section, the whole car was this bad!

Very nice work ;) The car came out great. hahaha, ham and bacon! lol. Poor pigs :p

Very nice detail there, love the 50/50 pictures. Really show's the difference you are making. Great and I mean great job there you sure turned that vehicle around oh and I agree with you very nice vehicle and a very lovely colour.

As for ham and bacon that's just halerious hahahahahahaha.

Thank you for sharing....um...a...mmmm....never mind.

Very nice job and pigs. ;) I never had a pig but I here they make good pets.

Nice job! The 50/50 shot of the compounding looks great :D I love looking at those pictures. Cool pigs! What a choice of names :p I wonder how they would react if they knew what their names meant.

I only make threads with befores, afters and half and half shots. I cant stand threads that do not have these and only have after shots, i ussually skip reading those threads completely.

As for the pigs, they go to the butcher once they hit 200 pounds.

My previous car was a 1998 Mazda 626 in this color... if I knew it could look that good I wouldn't have traded it in! :D
Fantastic job!

Great job..I wonder if you had done a section the way you wanted and showed it to him, if he would have let you do it completely? By the way, I heard the pigs talking..they know your plan and are now on a diet!!!!!:D

I like the Millenias a lot. It's a shame that is in such poor shape. Good work nonetheless.

Great job on that car! It turned out great despite the fact that you weren't able to wetsand. That's the power of the rotary, and your know-how.
