This 2000 Silverado is in great shape with only 40,000 miles but the paint needed some work. The horizontal panels had some deep etched water spots and the paint also had some rids. Most of the water spot etching cut out, I'd say about 98% and also the rids except for a couple deep ones. Without a paint thickness gauge I was hesitant with cutting the factory thin clearcoat to deep.

I also installed Escalade door handles and a color matched tailgate handle and bezel. It's a 65 year old guys truck so the grandpaw package is quit evident.

The 14 year old clearcoat was on the hard side and has never been corrected.

I used Mothers Clay with ONRWW as a lube, M105 with a Orange CCS Pad for the compounding step and HD Polish on a Flat LC Black Finishing Pad for the polishing step. This was topped with CG Blacklight & V7.

Before shots show the etching, swirls and rids.

After M105... the M105 finished down great with hardly any micromaring. I did mention the clearcoat was on the hard side!

wow. never see those silverados that clean...

Really nice work! I cut my detailing teeth on GMT800 trucks, and still have a soft spot for them....heck, I think I still have knuckle scars from installing Escalade door handles. :) Well done, and I have to admit...I was confused for a quick second with your sig...is your Sierra Victory Red as well? Nice Denali treatment on that rig, and...again, kudos on taking care of this fellow and his '00.

Nice work!

lol, so many grandpa packaged trucks are in my area. Half of them are first time truck owners that think they need all of the chrome accessories.

Great looking truck. You are correct that the truck was pampered though out it's life. I have seen trucks that have 10,000 miles on them and are just beat. In my logical mind not sure why these people bought a new truck to destroy faster than depreciation. This one has been kept in fine shape! :)
