Today I used my PC for the first time detailing my mom's 2001 Yukon XL for Mother's Day. Mom got it when it was about 2 years old and since then it's only been waxed a couple times and it sees a lot of automatic car washed. It has heavy scratches and swirl marks on the hood, and some light swirl marks on the sides. I managed to get all but the deepest out. Mom said that it had never looked as good as it did when I finished.

I only did the exterior and with a break for lunch it took about 5 hours. I did take some before pictures, but they didn't come out well enough to compare with the afters. Here's the process I used followed by some pictures.

1) Clean under hood and tires with degreaser and brush.
2) Removed love bugs with Gunk Bug and Tar Remover. It also worked well on the windshield.
3) Wash with Simonize car wash (got it pre-AG). I don't like it, doesn't foam at all.
4) Clay with Meg's clay and QD.
5) CCS orange pad with OC on the hood. Made two passes.
6) CCS white pad with OP on the whole vehicle.
7) CCS gray pad with OPS on the whole vehicle.
8) First pass with OS on the hood.
9) Armor All glass cleaner on all the windows.
10) Second pass with OS on hood and one pass on rest of vehicle.
11) Dressed tires and black trim with Megs Vinyl and Rubber Dressing.
12) Soaked in the praise and enjoyed a cold one :)

I told her to go brag to her friends. I could give up a couple Saturdays and pay for all my AG stuff (and maybe get enough to order some more).

Nice job bro! I give you two tumbs up!! 5 hours is not bad at all, big as it is.
Great reflection shot.

Thanks man.

I did think of a couple things to add:
- The Optimum products worked great. I have read that some think that they are oily, but they came right up for me.
- I had some light streaking with OS, but one run over it with the microfiber towel and it went away.
- I was a little worried about the decal pinstripes on the car, but the OP did not bother them at all. It actually cleaned out some old wax that was caked around them so they actually looked better.
- I also wanted to thank all the guys (and girls) that shared there experience here. I couldn't have done it without what I learned on this board.

I'll be doing my wife's Colorado next weekend, so I'll be posting some more pictures then.
