I recently finished my "Old Lady's" detail, so I thought I'd share. I've been maintaining the finish for a few years with mild polishing and wax. This time I started earlier (I traditionally start this effort in april but the last couple of seasons proved to be time challenging).

Anyway, here are the specifics:
'02 Camaro SS in Sunset Orange Metallic
Wash: Mother's California Gold Wash
Clay: Sonus Detailing Clay
Polish Team
Pads: Lake Country 4" foam buffing pad w/ 3-1/2" backing plate
(3 pads) 5-1/2" polishing, paint clean, finishing foam
w/ 5" backing plate.
Polish: Sonus Paintwork Cleanser, SFX-2 Swirl Mark Remover (random marks), SFX 3 finishing polish, additional pass with Paintwork Cleanser.
Clean-up: Sonus Acrylic Spritz
Final Spray/Condition: Sonus Acrylic Glanz
Wax: Zymol Vintage
Wheels: Blue Magic Polish
Tires: Mother's Tire and Rubber; Turtle Wax Tire Gel (with moderation)

We weren't really doing heavy weight polishing per se (save for the customary stray line here or there...that drives you crazy), so it was just taking off of last year's wax accumulation and starting over.
The start:

All clear, no wax (yet):

On location: Site 1. I like this location, as you get good directed sunlight to play with the wax surface.

I would say that we are off to a good start. The beauty of it is that I believe that I may get more wax time this year with this detail. I alway say that the next year I'll do less, but this process always seems to have its level of work.
Happy detailing everyone!

Wow nice job man. Btw can we trade cars please! lol I always loved som.

Those are some nice reflection shots! The paint looks very glossy! Great job!

I've always loved that car... the color is just phenomenal, especially polished up to a high gloss like you've kept it!

With the before and after photos I'd say you did a spectacular job detailing that Camaro. I like the photos and they show the clear quality of your skills and its result....:props:

Hey thanks for the compliments. Its been 9 years (wow time flies) of a labor of love and trial and error. For the most part I have had good experiences in trials, errors, and success in maintaining the finish. As we all know (and discovered along the way), is that the polishing process takes a good measure of work.

I do enjoy the results and the comments though!

Not a huge newer Maro fan, but that is a GREAT color! Really looks awesome!! Great job keeping her looking so nice!

:props:

great job! The last pic in the first post, is absolutely Outstanding!

Nice job. I've loved that color. Looks stock bulky those exhaust tips aren't, aftermarket catback?

Thanks again. Yea the tips are a little on the big side but I like 'em. It does have an aftermarket catback (its hard to leave a camaro totally stock).
