A couple of weeks ago, I flew out to Prescott Arizona from Maryland to visit a friend as well as to do some paint correction on both his truck and the car.

The truck and the car were in pretty bad shape!

Did a three step on the truck using Rupes zephir gloss/blue/blue pad.

Polished with diamond/white/white pad.

Used McKee's 37 high def paint sealant as LSP. Left sealant on truck for 24 hours before removing.

End results? Flawless!!

As for Nissan Sentra, we just did a one step using HD speed. Huge improvement! Wasn't perfect but beyond what we were expecting! We had also some extra time and threw on some HD poxy for good measure.

Onto photos...

Here we did two test spots. The top was the Rupes UHS and finished with kermik yellow/yellow pad.

Lower section was Zephir blue/blue pad and finished with diamond white/white pad.

We decided to go with lower section--

Lookin good. Did you use your Rupes on the truck bed?

Thanks Trip...

Looks great. I actually work for southern comfort, how hard would you consider that clearcoat, in 2004 it would have been dupont.

Strong66,

Wow that's cool to hear.

Hummm...Hard to say. In my "short" experiences with different clears to date, I would rate this one right in middle. Easy enough to cut down but hard enough to polish and finish out.
Love, love this clear coat. Finished down so much easier than the Lexus clear coat!

This "Southern comfort" makes me look like a top notch pro! Chuckle...

This may give you guys an idea...

I did only 4 section passes with Rupes Zephir "compound" blue/blue pad.
Did only 4 section passes with Rupes diamond white/white pad.

I would like to say I got 100% correction but in reality I probably got up to a solid 90% correction. I was hard pressed to find anything. It took about 2 days before I was able to find few scratches here and there.

The McKee's high def sealant was really fun to work with---just made the paint richer and thicker.

Tom

PS: If all the clear coats was as nice to work as this one, life as a "paint correction/detailer" would be heaven!

Thats good info to know, i rarely get a chance to buff out clear that is fully cured

The average age of the paint i normally buff is 24hrs old so still a bit on the soft side.

looks great sir....have to say, i'm really impressed with the results on the sentra.

Thanks. I agree re: Sentra.

We did the truck first. Warned the owner that the Sentra will be more fun to correct. He owned the car for, I believe over 10 years and never once
put any wax on it! The transformation was really phenomenal! And so much more fun to see.
