I have a 8 year old white Silverado that has been washed regularly and coated periodically with Turtle wax Ice. I have clayed a couple times. Black vinyl trim is fading. This is a daily driver, but I want it to look good on the jobsite for appearance sake. I am a newbie with a Griots 6 and 3 inch DA. I am looking for procedure and product recommendations. Looking for budget minded and Durable products. Hope this isn't asking too much

I was just in your shoes. What is the budget and what are you looking for(trying to accomplish besides the trim)? I just made the purchase, the sale was too good to pass up.

Assuming you've never polished, and with a budget in mind, I would try Meg's Ultimate Polish, if you need something more aggressive, Meg's ultimate compound. Both can be Bought at places like Wal Mart, parts store, etc.

One other option, if you don't need to polish, something like Mothers cleaner wax is a decent one step OTC product.

I don't mind spending some money. Sorry if I gave wrong impression, I didn't want to use Blackfire products I purchased for my Accord.I just won't have the time to spend on truck other than weekly washing. It is a long weekend and there is a sale going on.I was thinking, wash, clay, maybe nanoskin to speed things up,polish and then sealant or coating. I have some Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant but I was thinking maybe Black Wow

Well for cost i went with the nanoskin sponge combo $24.99 over one of the mitts. Prob would get either megs or mothers products. My list was a lot of megs mirror line. I had to restock because my stuff was left outside
over winter.

Here's an 07 I detailed:

One step correction with Menz FG400 (amazing stuff!!) and LC Orange Pad
Sealed with AF Power Seal

This truck had never been detailed, the paint was heavily oxidized and scratched fromm tree branches etc as it's a working / hunting truck.

FG 400 is truly an amzing one step product.

AF Power seal? Truck looks awesome

Auto Finesse, got it on bogo, looks like it's sold out. I usually use WG 3.0 Sealant but wanted to try something new. The real performer is the FG 400. It completely corrected the paint in a one step with no need for a second step. Knocked that whole truck out by myself in 7.5 hours.
