Let me start off by saying that this truck was for a local used diesel truck dealership. It had over

100,000 miles and was used primarily as a work truck. It looked like they had washed it with a bucked of dirt, sand and rocks a few times. Perfection was not an option on this truck. Too many deep scratches. The manager was not looking for a perfect finish, but just an improvement. And he was more than happy with the results. He was so happy he told me he was gonna use it himself for awhile as a daily driver. He said it will be fun driving the truck since it looks a lot better.

Thanks! You don't see too many trucks on this forum, especially beat up work trucks. I did some paintless dent repair on this truck as well. I know it was just a work truck, but it is amazing how people abuse their vehicles.

My process:
Clay with Hi Tech Magna Sponge(I love this clay bar, it speeds up the process!)
M105 wool pad
M205 foam pad
Ultrafina with blue 3M pad
Collinite 845
Poorboys Trim Restorer for black trim- Not completely happy with this product, worked great on mirrors, but the door handles did not look too good, they were faded out worse. The black bumper trim did not look too bad either with the PB.
 
So you needed a third step on the 205? Ouch, I hope you got well compensated for this one then!

I probably could have gotten away without the ultrafina step, but I think it was worth it. It basically helps remove any slight halograms from the use of the wool pad with the rotary. Sometimes the 205 finishes out perfectly, but on darker paint, it usually needs one more step. The paint correction took a full work day, but I did an interior and dent repair on it as well. So it took about 2.5 days to complete the truck. This dealership is a very good customer and they give me a lot of work. They have been in business for over 20 years and have never seen anyone make vehicles look good the way I do. My pricing, for this area is a little high, but the quality of work I give them is much better than what they were getting.

Did you take a class for the dent repair? Im looking to learn how to do scratch and chip repairs as well.

Yeah, I took a class for the dent repair in Springfield, Missouri at Ding King and I also took a class there for windshield repair.
The scratch and chip repair is a very good idea. Also dealers are always looking for an interior repair guy too. The more services you offer, the better off your business will be. I may add on the scratch and chip repair and the interior repair eventually.

yeah interior repair would be an awesome skill to have. i will have to look into that. I definitely think that having all those side repair skills could just add to a detail for sure!
