I finally got around to my spring/summer detail a week ago. I used a completely different product/machine combination this time and I am pretty happy with the results.
I got up early and took some sunrise pics. Enjoy.
- WASH: Megs Gold Class soap with single bucket and Grit Guard
- CLAY: Megs Mild Clay using Mothers Showtime Instant Detailer
- MACHINE(S): UDM with 4" white LC CCS, Speed 5 for Clear Bra / Flex XC3401 VRG Orbital Polisher (Dual Action) with 6.5" white LC CCS, Speed 5 for paint.
- POLISH: 1 x Pinnacle XMT360 for Clear Bra / 2 x Menzerna Nano Polish (PO106ff) for paint.
- GLAZE: 1 x Danase Wet Glaze (DWG)
- WAX/SEALANT: 2 x Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection v.1 (UPP)
- TIME: 2.5 days
- It is great not having to use an aggressive polish since my daily maintenance program is working great. I had a few minor scratches but there were zero swirls after 9 months since my last detail.
- The Flex XC3401 is an AWESOME detailing machine.
- The Menzerna polish is the best polish I have ever used with exception for all the dusting. I spent too much of my time getting rid of dust. I have been told that adding some Optimum Polish will cut down on the dusting. Otherwise, the paint on my car is super reflective and clear. I did not realize I had some marring from my last detail until the Nano Polish showed me a near perfect finish.
- The Danase Wet Glaze is the bomb! I found it best to just work the glaze in one panel at a time. Complete one panel and wipe off. I found it harder to wipe off when left on for an extended period of time. When using DWG with a sealant it looks like the paint has been topped with a top carnauba wax. I love this stuff since it can be used under or on top of a synthetic sealant. Now, I have the carnauba look with synthetic sealant longevity.
- The amount of orange peel in the Acura paint is very disappointing.
I got up early and took some sunrise pics. Enjoy.
