This car belongs to my neighobrs grandson and was in need of a thorough cleaning inside and out. After inspecting the condition of the exterior and some discussion we had settled on my Americoat Package with a Single-Stage Paint Correction along with a Premium Interior Detail.

Overall the exterior of the car was kept pretty clean

Close up of the passenger side lower fender and door. As you can see in the picture there was a decent amount of debri built up on the lower exterior.

The driver side looked pretty identical to the passenger side with road debri.

The interior of the vehicle was in pretty good shape, with just minor dirt that is pretty typical from daily use.

The owners of the vehicle have two small children, so as with most cars that have children in them there was plenty of crumbs from eating in the back seating area

Condition Of The Paint After Being Cleaned

I was shocked to see the paint looking like this when I first turned on the halogen lights. The paint looked to be in really good condition in the sun when I inspected the car, however the true condition of the paint only came out once under the halogen lights.

Another image of the passenger side door and fender showing tons of swirls and light surface scratches.

An image of the passenger tail light. Even the lights were heavily swirled.

Single-Stage Paint Correction Process
I performed a test spot using my Rupes LHR 15 and Americana Car Care Ameridepth w/ a 5.5" white (polishing) Lake Country flat pad. This combination provided very good correction, however I performed a second test spot using Menzerna FG400 w/ a 5.5" orange (light-cutting) Lake Country flot pad. This provide more the desired results I was looking for while and finished down very nice and glossy on this color paint. This is the process I used on the rest of the car. I used my Rupes 75E with 3" orange (light-cutting) Lake Country flat pads in the tighter areas of the car.

50/50 shot of the first test spot I tried with Ameridepth. I was getting roughly 75-80% correction with this combination.

50/50 shot of the second test spot I performed using FG400. I was achieving 85-90% correction with this combination, while also leaving a nice deep glossy finish.

Another image of the driver side after polishing. As you can see the gloss and finish was outstanding on this color.

This is a picture showing the reflective qualities of finish after being polished and coated. The car literally looked like a mirror.

Another great reflection shot on the hood. It is pretty much impossible to tell the color of this paint in this picture.

This color was simply amazing in bright sunlight, however at the time I was taking pictures it was overcast.

Interior Cleaning Process And Final Product
The inteior of the vehicle wash thoroughly swept and the carpets were brushed with a cyclo brush on my DA. The seats were spot cleaned with Folex, while the trim and panels were scrubbed with Meguiars APC+ leaving a nice clean surface. The interior trim was then dressed with Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer.

For a rare find you sure brought this Pontiac back in style with your paint correction and hard work

Great results with FG400, awesome 50/50 shots, this is what we all talk about here!

Really interesting reading your success using LC pads and Menzerna polishes, with the Rupes.

Congratulations on your work,

Thanks for sharing.

Kind Regards.

Great work and IMO the 2nd pic looks best, this new LSP is getting a good rep already!

I really liked the results I was getting with FG400. This is the first I have really used it, and I was having a dusting issue with it. Most people say they get little to no dust with it, however I was getting quite a bit of dusting. Guess I just need to figure out what I am doing wrong with it.
