Hey everyone. For my second full detail or as I call it "The Full Monty" I had another challenge mainly on the interior. Let the pics speak for themselves. This was badly needed to increase the value as it will be listed for sale with 99K miles. I think I took off about 50K-60K miles..

I had two vehicles to do over my Independence Week off. 2003 CR-V (coming in another thread) and this Mercury.

Awesome job! I love the work in the interior. The bissell proheat is awesome

Fantastic job Joe!! Really knocked this one out good! Keep up the hard work.

Amazing job on the interior. Did you use the LGM on the headliner as well?

Yep, I had some streaks and small stains in a few places. Tidied it up with a MF cloth and Folex. I admit I was a little nervous once it dried it was great!

Great job, Joe! Could you give a breakdown on the tools, products, and your process on the carpets, upholstery and headliner? I'll be honest, I want to replicate what you're doing. :xyxthumbs:

wow!!!!! thats an amazing interior transformation .... you made that car worth another $2500+ ... CLEAN sells!!!!!

Outstanding job again!!! Man those carpets were pretty dirty!!!

Let's see:

Tools:
BLGM with Heat

Process:
~Start with trunk and vacuum well top to bottom including jambs
~Mother's VLR on trunk plastic. (I did this on inside especially since interior was tan/beige, didn't want to dirty the cloth seats with my rag by accident.
~Jambs using Simple Green 1/4 dilutted w/ Race Glaze brush, rinse with water from hose with very little pressure.
~Fill BLGM with favorite carpet solution. I used Bissell 2x concentrate for upright models and add hot water from tap (even though the unit heats water)
~Next If water was completely black repeat and repeat and repeat above step. I went through $40 worth or product on the Milan alone.
~Next If dirty water color lightens switch to all hot water
~Repeat

BLGM Clean order:
~Trunk
~Headliner for that side
~Rear deck lid on that side
~Right rear back of passenger seat/headrest (sides, top, back)
~Floor carpet
~Right Rear seat back
~Now move you butt on a creaper stool or use floor mat to kneel and do that seat bottom
~Finally the floor mat

Repeat all around like in counter clockwise motion.
~Followed by left rear side
~Drivers side
~Passenger side

If seats and underneath are horrible pull them like I did on this Scion http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/51308-2006-scion-xb.html

Headliner
~Vacuum first
~BLGM with light pressure with hot water only. Straight water worked but if you use chemical it will burn your eye since you are on your back looking up while it drips.

Method:
If filthy I spray APC and some product from the machine to dampen the area.

Start farthest away, squeeze trigger and get product in corner while holding it up, set down in corner, squeeze trigger and slowly pull back in straight line. Make another pass but don't squeeze just suck up product and watch it go in. If you hit an area that turns from clear to black/brown whatever other than clear, keep repeating in that area. Repeat in different directions.

Floor mats, start in one direction with method above but I spin it around to move the cloth fibers in every direction. I usually get 6 turns before I'm changing the water, like in the drivers side floor mats case from the Milan.

This should get you started...

Note: This works for me their might be faster or more efficient ways, if you have thoughts please share. Always looking to improve!

I agree with this! I have two dogs, and mine and my girls car always needs a good shampoo on the inside now and then! How's the bissel? Looks like it does great!

Also what foam cannon is that? Is that for a standard hose line or pressure washer...?

EITHER WAY EXCELLENT WORK!!!!!!!!!!:dblthumb2:

Thanks!

Thanks for the in-depth response, Joe!! My wife came home a few weeks ago with a BLGM for me, and I've used it a couple of times. Your results are terrific so I wanted to see how I could improve. Thank you for sharing!!

Thanks Chris!

Love the BLGM it's great for what it is! The foam gun is BLACKFIRE Quart Foamaster Foam Gun, foamer, car wash foam gun, foam master and it's for a garden hose which has a quick disconnect to use the nozzle by itself.

Welcome Mark. If you need anything else shoot me a PM.

Very nice. The Milan really looks nice but having tan carpeting is just asking for trouble. It always seem to look like it is dirty and stains show so much.
