The last time i waxed my truck was in the spring (March 1st)... I figured i better get a good coating of wax on the paint before winter hits...

On Friday we had some rain and i figured i'd take some pics to show how the DG 105/601 topped with collinite 845 was holding up after 6 months.

So on Saturday i washed the truck with dawn and hit it with DG 501/601 and waited 2 hours and applied DG 105/601... And waited 2 more hours then applied DG Aquawax...

I waited till this morning to apply a coating of Collinite 845...

All chrome parts and rims were coated with the same combo the paint got. The windows got 2 coats of Rain-x and Aquawax. The door jams also got the same coating the paint recieved... All coatings were applied and removed in the sun by hand using the Polishin' Pal, excluding the 845, which was applied in the shade.

Thank you... I'm hoping... Since it's only my weekend driver, i'm thinking the paint and chrome will be good till spring.

Good job on a nice truck!

Where did you get the lower grille?

Nice truck! I also like the look of that lower grille.

When you say you put on 2 coats of Rain-X and Aquapell, is that a coat of Rain-X and then Aquapell on top of the Rain-X?

Thanks CLM....

I applied one coat of Rain-x and waited about 10 minutes... then applied a second coating of Rain-x... I did not use Aquapell.. I used Duragloss Aqauwax... It's their spray synthetic wax... When i used it on the paint, i just spritz a little on the windows as i'm working my way around the truck. I haven't had any issues with the spray wax on the windows at all.

Looks great! Read a lot of positive comments regarding the performance of the 845, so I just got some from AG last week. I'll be putting it on my '06 black F-150 soon. Great truck, really like the newer ones!

Thanks Hokie!!!

:xyxthumbs: on the newer 150's... wish i would have waited a few more months to get the 5.0L or the ecoboost engine's though! Amazing amount of power from the twin turbo v-6 Im the MAN

Thanks CLM....

OOPS, sorry! I misread that. Thanks for the clarification!

Thanks duck commander, I just got a black '11 f-150 Lariat, and just might put that grille on my Chritmas wish list. Too bad the license plate takes up half the space though.

:( do you live in a state, which requires you to have a front license plate?

By your statement above, i'm assuming you do not have the ecoboost engine?

The ecoboost engine has the plate on the front of the truck, but not in the 'gap'... i'ts on the black plastic piece beside the 'gap'... you could always get the black plastic piece like the ecoboost to mount your plate there and then you'd see the whole billet lower grill.
