2010 Honda Pilot Wash ‘n Seal Charity Winner

A friend and customer asked me to contribute a gift certificate to a charity drive she was assisting. It was for Lost and Found Pets, which is something she’s very involved in.

My gift certificate which I valued at $85 (should have been $125) ended up bringing in $285! Cool beans.

It took about 2 months then I got a call from the winner to redeem the certificate. It had been far too cold. Already took my stuff out of the van and stored it indoors. I was ready to tell him we’d have to wait for the weather to break. Decided to check the forecast and BAM, it was going to mid 60’s on Sunday. It was a beautiful day.

Vehicle was just mildly dirty from typical winter weather. He added on an interior package and gave a nice tip as well as expressed interest in the same service for his fiancées Lexus 330. He clearly cleans his vehicles on a regular basis. Pretty straight forward job. No paint correction.

This is my 1st detail of 2016 and 1st detail using my new camera: Panasonic - LUMIX DMC-FZ70. I got it on sale for $149. I got it primarily for the wide 20mm. I am pleased with it. I forgot to take a before/after video though. Next time!

Now that I'm thinking about it, what do you guys use to coat the rubber floor mats that will NOT transfer to people's shoes and be slippery?

I am thinking of DP Tire Cleaner & Restorer diluted down. I haven't tried the product, but it looks pretty good.

Nice job. I did something like this for a charity auction not too long ago too. It's a nice feeling.

As far as the floor mats, I don't dress any pedals, mats, steering wheels, etc. I just view it as a bit of a safety concern. I've tried a lot of products and they all change the behavior of the mats as far as I've seen. Once you factor in wet shoes or something it just gets dicey, IMO. The old grayed ones definitely detract from an interior though...

Nice and nice of you to donant your services! Your goodwill was rewarded with more work.

The last job I did was for a client who was donating her car to a friend. I tried to go above and beyond because of her generosity.
