The only underhood mod on the 426-horse 6.2L LS3 is the addition of a non-functional Shaker assembly.

Looks like virtually the same basic body as the new Camaro. Change the front and rear bumpers and you basically have it.

yeah and i think it was a big knock to them at the sema shows and what not. but...doesnt change my mind that I would love to have it as a weekend cruiser

My thoughts exactly. But hey it's still a nice looking ride! I certainly wouldn't mind cruising around in one!

I do think if Pontiac were still alive and they produced a Trans Am that looked like this it would be very successful.
The honeycomb gold/silver wheels reminiscent of the original version look very nice on this car.

Right

I think if they came out with iconic t-tops version and like a xx anniversary one and like a bandit version there would be a market

GM made the decision to drop Pontiac instead of Buick because of GM's domination in China.

Buick is the most sort after brand in China today and the sales far surpass those of the US. Even though GM is an American car company they no allegiance to the American car buyer because they are fewer in number and generate less profits.

Can it be a 2010 concept considering it's 2011? Isn't it just kinda "#### I thought of that I never got around to doing" at this point? Not to mention Pontiac is dead as fried chicken. :) Looks nice though.

Yes it is a 2010 and its 2011 but I was browsing trans ams b/c I will be working on a 1980 t/a soon. just wanted share cool looking car.

So Mike, what were your impressions of the car? Too much camaro in it for you?

Nah... I liked it... :xyxthumbs:

If I were to get a Trans Am I would get a classic though... just like Burt Reynolds drove... I took the below pics at last years Barrett-Jackson auction in this thread...

There were quite of few Trans Ams at this auction, the Trans Am was made famous by Burt Reynolds and Sally Field in the movie, Smokey and the Bandit

Yup thats why Im putting some money into the 1980. Its not the turbo version (thank God) that engine was junk. I have the stock 301. Wish I could drop it and have one from the earlier 70s like the 455. lol.

Either way the t/a is a great old school ride and I look forward to putting many years into it to make it look new again!
